SRK need not apologize – Salman Khan

After what happened between Salman Khan and Shahrukh at Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash no one ever thought that they will make up and be on cordial terms ever, but seems like things are on a mend now. Apparently, Shahrukh is currently in the midst of a controversy over his comments on inclusion of Pakistani players in the IPL (Indian Premier League) cricket matches. Apparently, Shahrukh refused to retract his statements and that has further irked Shiv Sena. There is high probability that they might create trouble during the screening of his movie ‘My Name is Khan’.

Wanted vs Veer : Box office update

The first indication that Veer may not go the Wanted way, was when the collections first dipped on Saturday and later dropped quite significantly on Monday. Republic day (Tuesday) business helped the film get close to the first week numbers of Wanted, but the huge crash on Friday (Week 2) and further drops on Saturday and Sunday has meant that the film is highly unlikely to attain HIT status. The fact that the distributors share is high from single screens has ensured the “moderate success” tag for the film, but business overall has been well below expectations. Here is a comparison between Wanted and Veer

Ram Gopal Varma through the film deals with a very relevant issue in today’s time of the corruption plagued news channels – the TRP battles, unethical journalism, masala entertainment in the name of news et al. A compelling, hard-hitting experience is what you expect from a film like Rann, but does it deliver?

“Playing a bad woman for the first time” – Vidya Balan

Promos of ‘Ishqiya’ have caught on in a big way and it is obvious by now that Vidya Balan would be seen in a never-seen-before role in it. The actor is thrilled about her role in the dark drama which is releasing Friday. ‘When it comes to cinema, time and again women are seen and heard in a certain manner. Also, they are not necessarily shown to be their own self and are instead driven by people around her,’ Vidya told IANS. ‘However, in the case of ‘Ishqiya’, the portrayal of women is entirely different. That’s because Krishna (her character) is a woman who is ‘direct dil se’,’ added Vidya.

Salman Khan unhappy with Veer?

As the release of Veer is inching closer (January 22), Salman Khan is out to ensure that there are no loopholes in the film. Veer is close to the actor’s heart as he is the lead actor-cum-scriptwriter. So Salman suggested a few changes after watching the rough print of the film. However, the filmmakers were in no mood to comply, resulting in an ugly, verbal spat between them. A source says, “Salman had been writing the script of Veer over the years. The film is his baby and he is personally involved in every aspect. On Friday night, while watching the rough print of the film, Salman was a tad disappointed with the end product. He was unhappy with the length and wanted it to be cut short by a few minutes. He understands that today’s audience does not have

My Name Is Khan Movie Preview

The official preview of My Name Is Khan ************************************ My name is Rizvan Khan (played by Shahrukh Khan). I might seem a little ‘different’ to you. That is because I have Asperger’s Syndrome. It is named after Dr Hans Asperger who first noticed the traits in children. Having Asperger’s does not mean I am stupid. I am very intelligent, but I don’t understand people. I don’t know why people say things they don’t mean. For example, they say come to my house any time, and when I go to their house they say why have you come at this time? Sometimes people think

Aamir, Hirani, Chopra – Time to show some grace : Vir Sanghvi

Vir Sanghvi is the Editorial Director of the Hindustan Times. Very interesting article, worth a read. ******************************** Here are two images you may remember from television. The first was the Oscar ceremony. Simon Beaufoy won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay for Slumdog Millionaire. It is no secret that Beaufoy’s script differed significantly from the book by Vikas Swarup on which Slumdog was based. But Beaufoy made it a point to thank Swarup on stage and to say that without his book there would be no screenplay, no movie, and no Oscars. Later that same night Slumdog director Danny Boyle while accepting his own Oscar apologised to the choreographer Longinus, whose name had been left

Raksha: Ram Gopal Varma’s 3D film

Sent by Ram Gopal Varma for publication. **************************** After getting hit by the incredibly enormous impact of AVATAR and then once you get over the dazzling Special EFX and the unimaginable imagination of James Cameron if you just concentrate solely on only the 3D aspect of it you will see that it surely and clearly opens up a new dimension for any kind of cinema not necessarily only for huge mega budget special EFX films like Avatar. Not that 3D is a completely new phenomenon. I still remember standing in the line to get tickets for “Chota Chetan” at Ramakrishna 70mm in Hyderabad and wondering what exactly 3D means. When I finally got to see it I was blown away with the effect of objects seemingly coming out of the screen onto me. “Chota Chetan” was one film which used the

Most Romantic Love song of the Decade!

This decade has witnessed quite a few romantic gems, but if we have to pick one, it would have to be Wada Raha from Rajkumar Santoshi’s Khakhee. The music was composed by débutante Ram Sampat, who never really managed to match the success of Khakhee with his last few albums. Sung by Arnab Chakravorty and Shreya Ghosal, Wada Raha was beautifully picturized. Lead stars Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai shared great chemistry. Watch the video below. What’s your most favorite romantic song this decade?
