Ra One has collected 15.5 crores in Week 2 taking it’s all-India collections to about 113 crores in 2 weeks (including the 5 day extended weekend). With the release of Rockstar, Ra One most certainly won’t cross the lifetime collections of Ready. Although the Ghajini record (116 crores) will be crossed in it’s third weekend.

The Ra One ‘audience’ verdict is quite clear by now. The film has been rejected by majority of the audience. After a strong extended weekend, the SRK-Kareena starrer crashed on Monday, fell further on Tuesday and Wednesday and had poor collections on Thursday too. First day of the second week is expected to be around 3 – 4 crores at best.
For a mega-budget film like Ra One, the day after the weekends was always going to be important. Weekdays are dreaded, mainly because the ‘actual verdict’ is clearly evident only after all the hype subsides. Ra One started slow on Monday and never really picked up, with collections around 6 crores – the film has crashed by more than 60% compared to it’s first Friday. The trending is similar to My Name Is Khan, which also had a spectacular weekend but had a free-fall from Monday on-wards.
Here are some fun facts that should not be taken too seriously.. The entire cost of making Bodyguard (about 45 crores) was less than what SRK spent on marketing Ra One (52 crores). Ra One had 5 stars; Shahrukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt and Rajnikanth. Bodyguard had just two stars Salman and Kareena.
