Ra One – Box Office Disaster in the making?

Ra One is Shahrukh Khan’s most ambitious project to date. His dream superhero film and the actor has already dedicated it to his son Aryan. Correct us if we are wrong, but there is something that doesn’t seem to be right with Ra One. It seems like a repeat of Hrithik Roshan’s Kites. We are not predicting the box office outcome of the film, but just going by all the news and rumours that have been flying around the internet, mostly from credible sources – all is not well.

ZNMD Box office: Pleasant surprise

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara has just completed a stupendous first week collecting more than Rs 45 crores nett at the Indian Box office. The word-of-mouth publicity is so good that the film is set for a strong run for the next 3 weeks. Singham is an entertainer for the masses and its unlikely to have any impact on ZNMD’s second weekend. It is strange how a good film works, irrespective of the competition. Before release, almost everyone (including us) expected the Hrithik starrer to be massively affected by the last Harry Potter movie. With Singham scheduled for release this week, most concluded that Zindagi has just one week to collect as much as it possibly can and somehow recover its high costs. Barely a week later, every review has been positive. Almost everyone who has watched it, has liked it. Now, the same trade pundits are talking of ZNMD affecting Singham at multiplexes! Strange ain’t it? A pleasant surprise for the trade pundits. So how will it perform in the next few weeks? Below are the numbers we expect in Week 2 and 3.
