Aamir Khan denies signing Dangal

PK has opened to packed houses across the country, but Aamir Khan was his usual down-to-earth self. In a group interview on Monday, the superstar said that he is yet to sign his next film after PK – which is rumoured to be director Nitesh Tiwari’s Dangal.

PK grosses 200 crore worldwide in 4 days

Aamir Khan’s PK has grossed more than Rs 200 crore worldwide in just 4 days after its release and has already become the 3rd highest grossing Aamir film of all time, beating the worldwide collections of Talaash and Ghajini. The film trails behind two of his biggest grossers Dhoom 3 and 3 Idiots. While the 3 Idiots record is likely to be surpassed, it will be interesting to see if PK can challenge the worldwide business of Dhoom 3. PK will also emerge as the highest worldwide grosser of 2014 and could do so in less than 10 days!

Bollywood 100 crore club: PK becomes the 4th fastest!

After creating history with their last movie together, the duo of director Rajkumar Hirani and Aamir Khan have worked their magic once again with their latest release PK. The film has done incredibly well and has crossed the 100 crore mark on its 4th day, also making the film the fourth fastest to the 100 crore mark.

PK Monday Box Office Collection Update

UPDATE 11PM: With collections pouring in from various centres, PK was rock-steady at the box office on Monday. As we reported in the noon, Monday business is more than 18 crore. Multiplexes have sustained very well, even though most were running to packed-houses on Friday. Some single-screens were better than Friday, which suggests that the word-of-mouth is extraordinary even at centres where the film didn’t open well. A few exhibitors have also reported that PK has excellent repeat-value, with people returning back to watch the film again. The 4th day business of PK is likely to be around the 20 crore mark, taking the total to 115 crore net. Siddharth Mallya to make his acting debut

Vijay Mallya’s son Siddharth Mallya will make his acting debut in a British – Indian film that is expected to go on floors early next year. The film doesn’t have a title yet, but is said to be a witty teen comedy, directed by the Kolkata based Q (who has previously worked on ‘Tasher Desh’). The untitled film will be produced by Steve Barron.

There is a saying “There is no such thing as bad publicity. Good or bad, publicity is still publicity”. When #BoycottPK trended on Twitter last evening, a lot more people who weren’t interested in watching the film, were now curios enough to check it out at a nearby theatre.
