Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya wins box-office race

Of the two releases last week – both medium budget films with a small but reliable star cast, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya has clearly won the box-office race. After a good weekend of  7.8 crores, the film has held up well on Monday, to take it’s 4 day total to around Rs 9.5 crores. The film opened to an average response on Friday (1.9 crores), picked up considerably on Saturday (2.5 crores) and did exceptionally well on Sunday (3.4 crores).

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu HIT or FLOP – Box Office Prediction

Karan Johar’s Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, directed by Shakun Batra on debut, releases today. The film has a fresh star cast (Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor) and good catchy music as it’s major USP’s. It’s the second film from the Dharma Productions banner to release in as many weeks – Agneepath released on 26th January and opened to historic numbers. Can Ek Main Aur Ek Tu repeat the magic? Will it be back to back hits for Dharma?  We certainly hope so, as the pre-release reports are fabulous. Those who have watched it, have only good things to say about the film.

Agneepath Day 2: Crashes at the box-office

Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath has crashed at the box-office on Day 2, with collections just as shocking as Day 1. While the film opened to packed houses on the first day of it’s release, collections dropped by more than 50% on Day 2 – as the film managed only 11 – 12 crores nett in India. Thursday was a Holiday (republic day), but as Friday was a working day, collections were expected to drop by around 30 – 35%. But a 11 crore drop, something that has never happened before, was totally unexpected. There could be several reasons for this As already mentioned above, Friday was a working day and collections always drop on the second day of a film’s release, especially when the first day is as huge as 23 crores.
