PK has opened to near full houses at multiplexes across the country on Friday. The early morning shows opened slow, some multiplexes were as low as 30-35% for shows that start at 8:30 in the morning, but as the day progressed, premium multiplexes were recording 100% collections.

5 years after 3 Idiots, arguably the most entertaining film of the last decade, Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi (writer) return with a film titled ‘PK’. Mumbai City - PK will be running on a record number of shows in Mumbai city this weekend. The advance booking for Friday is pretty good, although not on the same level as Happy New Year – which is expected as Friday is a working day across the country.

Q: Can Akshay Kumar’s Baby beat Hrithik Roshan’s Agneepath at the box office to be the highest grosser in the month of January? (Kritagya) A: It would depend on the opening and word-of-mouth. If the opening day business is above 13 crore, the film has a good chance of crossing the 60 crore mark by the end of its extended 4-day weekend (Monday is a holiday for Republic Day). Assuming that the film carries good word-of-mouth, it should then collect 75-80 crore first week and 120 crore plus lifetime. Opening will be crucial.
