Salman Khan’s Veer has opened to a fantastic response at the box office and is currently on a record-breaking spree on single screens. Business is best in North, East and Central India and worst down South.
Single screen business is 90% on Day 1 while multiplexes have seen around 50-60% average through the day. Combined, Veer has managed to nett 7 crores on Day 1 all over India.
As the film is performing best at single screens, it would be unfair to compare Veer based on box office nett collections. Going by the distributors share, the Day 1 business of Veer is next only to Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots and Ghajini.
Saturday too, the business is excellent at single screens and it would be very interesting to see how the film performs on its first crucial weekday. Tuesday, being a holiday (Republic day) should also boost the Week 1 collections.
If the trending is close to as good as Wanted, Veer should easily attain HIT status.
I think Veer and Wanted has more than Khuda k liye. Salman khan is most popular in Karachi i guess in Pak too. The show is housefull till tuesday you can guess what would be the response?

I had bought the tickets for veer on tuesday itself for saturday show when i saw d review i was about to give away thos tickets but still i went ahead by public word of mouth n bleave me i enjoyed the movie more then 3 idiots coz of salman presence he was too gud movie was realy gud not us much as 3 idiots but still a very gud movie plz dont go by review go n watch the movie u will come to no urslf dont miss out ….

I dont like this at all. Why are media and critics always spreading fake and negative reviews and news against Akshay and Salman fans. This is only because Yashraj, Karan and SRK type guys pay them money. Salman and Akshay are gods of India and have much much bigger fan following than SRK.

this film is so bad that it leaves de danandan by miles together …imagine people calling bhen de take in that era of 1857!!!! horrors… more .. the heroine is fat and obnoxious and odesnt deliver her dialogues properly… the story is full of pot holes a sure formula for a flop.. everything is contrived and made to suit the actors.. mithun still says hey for hai… oooffff ..when will he learn and give up that accent of his!!!..in toto this film is a loser and im sure people here are fans who are needlessly praising the movie.. the songs too are atrocious and the frequent use of surili ankhon and its instrumental version does the movie in…. this anil sharma is a nut.. and if salman says hes done the script then he is the biggesat moron if he didnt learn his lesson from chandramukhi and suryavanshi

´Veer´ Salman Khan Gets ´Pride of the Nation´ Award
New Delhi, Jan 19 (PTI) Bollywood star Salman Khan was today conferred the ‘Pride of the Nation’ award for spreading the message of patriotism, secularism and national integration through films.
Constituted by Anti Terrorist Front, the award was presented to Salman by its chairman M S Bitta and eight children, who are terror victims, at a function here.
Bitta said Salman was conferred the award for spreading the message of patriotism, secularism and national integration through films, including his new film “Veer”.
At the function, Khan and Bitta also presented ATF-’Veer’ Bravery Awards to eight persons, including Delhi Police Inspector M C Sharma (posthumously for fighting terrorists) and Jammu and Kashmir braveheart Ruksana Kausar.
