Salman Khan’s Veer has opened to a fantastic response at the box office and is currently on a record-breaking spree on single screens. Business is best in North, East and Central India and worst down South.
Single screen business is 90% on Day 1 while multiplexes have seen around 50-60% average through the day. Combined, Veer has managed to nett 7 crores on Day 1 all over India.
As the film is performing best at single screens, it would be unfair to compare Veer based on box office nett collections. Going by the distributors share, the Day 1 business of Veer is next only to Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots and Ghajini.
Saturday too, the business is excellent at single screens and it would be very interesting to see how the film performs on its first crucial weekday. Tuesday, being a holiday (Republic day) should also boost the Week 1 collections.
If the trending is close to as good as Wanted, Veer should easily attain HIT status.

hello friends….i m commenting for the first time but i am regular viewer of indicine….i would like to clear all the misconceptions about the business of veer…..
** first of all veer requires 25 crore share (44 crore net) for getting average tag…..
and 30 crore share (50 crore net) for getting hit status….
this is confirmed by producers as well as boxofficeindia.
**as far as weekend collections are concerned…acc to distributors…
* friday —- 6.5 crore + 70 lakh(telugu version) = 7.3 crores
* saturday —- 7 crore including telugu version
* sunday —- 7.6 crore including telugu version
so net weekend = 21.4 crores or can say ( minimun 21.5 crores….)
note : this weekend is confirmed by the producers….as movie is doing exceptionally well at small centres and giving an exact figure from all the small centres is a tough task….so this is the minimum collection..it could be higher as well.
**as veer’s most of the business is from single screens which give higher share to distributors….
so the share for 3 days is 12.5-13 crores (minimun).
**estimated minimum total of veer (by trade analysts) = 10 cr (overseas) + 30 cr (india) + 15 cr ( satellite) + 8 cr (music) + 8-10c r ( dvd sales) etc
so total veer = 70 crores ( minimum ).

Just read it in an online article on a box office india. Monday showed 60% drop from Friday and collections totsl was 2.5 crore and on Tuesday it showed a very slight jump which is not at all enough. Republic day celebrations are keeping people more busy.
Trade Analyst Jaidev Mukherjee said that Veer is heading for a below average status.
I am very glad that its at least not a disaster unlike 17 of Sallu’s films in the last 5-6 years

Hina yes I was just kidding sweetie. Veer is heading towards an ATBB status. Opening weekend is unheard of 58.5 crores. Monday saw 25% – 30% jump in all places and collections on Monday total 22 crores.
First week total heading to 200 crores nett with 25%-30% with each passing day. Apart from putting garlands on him, illiterate and blind Sakku fans are contributing to build more C grade movie theaters to watch Veer as movie theaters across India are overflowing with audience

According to a leading newspaper, a Sallu fan from Rajasthan after seeing Veer was so much overjoyed that he committed suicide immediately after the movie ended and left a note saying that he wanted to kill himself and be reborn as Veer in his next birth. He also wrote in the note that his favorite dialogue was “Ye mere dadda ka talwaar hai, sirf mere fans ke gardanon ke liye hai”
Even I loved dialogue so much even though I am not much of a Sakku fan
