Aamir Khan’s PK continued its historic run at the box office in its second weekend. It has also emerged as the best trending big film since Rajkumar Hirani’s last release 3 Idiots. At most multiplexes, PK has recorded the highest second weekend collections ever. It has also smashed the records of mega grossers like Chennai Express and KICK in less than 10 days. PK is set to record the highest second week collections and should eventually do well enough to set records in the third and fourth week too. The 300 crore club will belong to Aamir Khan soon and there is an outside chance that the film might even cross the 350 crore mark. PK has also become an ‘All Time Blockbuster’ – Aamir Khan’s 4th in 5 films. Every universally appealing commercial film of Aamir since 2008 has gone on to be an all time grosser. PK vs Dhoom 3: PK showing much better trends

PK is showing much better trends than Dhoom 3, which indicates that the film will not only cross the 300 crore mark, but could go on to be a much bigger grosser.  The second week collection comparison suggests that PK is likely to be ahead by around 20-30% and could sustain even better during the weekdays.

Sanjay Dutt is out of jail for 2 weeks and the actor was seen celebrating the success of his recent release “PK” in Mumbai. Now that the film is set to be the biggest grosser of all time, Sanju was ecstatic. “It is such an honest film, a film with so much of heart and truth and that’s the reason it is such a big hit. I think only Raju, Vidhu and Aamir can make such a film” Hirani will now be directing a biopic based on Dutt’s life. Ranbir Kapoor will be playing Dutt in the film.

Box Office comparison between Aamir Khan’s PK and the biggest grosser of the year so far Salman Khan’s Kick. Both PK and Kick took a similar opening in terms of numbers, at the box office. But PK overtook Kick by a distance at the end of its first weekend. In 5 days, PK is ahead even though Kick had a huge holiday for Eid.

Sanjay Dutt returns home on 2 week annual leave

Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt, who is currently serving a sentence in Yerawada jail after being convicted for illegal possession of arms in the 1993 serial blasts case, was granted a 2 week long furlough on December 23. Dutt was released on December 24.
