Wazir First Weekend Box Office Collections

Wazir has performed well in its first weekend at the box office, as the film has crossed the Rs 20 crore mark. The first weekend business is Rs 21.01 crore. The film started slow on Friday and managed to gain quite a bit of momentum on both Saturday and Sunday. Monday is now the big test for the film, as its fate is now dependent on how well it sustains today. The film has to hold on to around the 3.5 – 4 crore. Early reports from theatres on Monday morning suggest a drop of around 40-50% from Friday.

Raees vs Sultan Update

Industry insiders say, unless the makers of both films meet and work out a solution, the clash between Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Salman Khan’s Sultan is certain to take place. The Raees camp is holding on to the lucrative Eid release date for two reasons. One, their film would be ready in a couple of months, but there is still a chance that Sultan could be delayed. With 6 months to go for Eid, about 3 months of Sultan shoot is still left.

Dilwale Total Box Office Collections and Verdict

Dilwale has collected Rs 141.58 crore in India and around Rs 150 crore from the overseas markets in 17 days after its release. The worldwide gross collections of the film is Rs 341 crore. Like we have mentioned in some of our previous reports, Dilwale is a hugely profitable film for Shah Rukh Khan. But individual distributors have lost a huge chunk of their investment in several circuits in India, and a loss-making film in major circuits for the local distributors cannot be declared as a ‘clean-HIT’.

Box Office Verdict of Dilwale?

Continuation of #AskIndicine QnA. Read More Q. Though Bajirao Mastani might have won the clash domestically. Still Dilwale is far more profitable than Bajirao. Don’t you think verdict of Dilwale will be same as Bajirao Mastani? A. Verdicts are confusing these days, not just for the people who follow collections and verdicts, but even for us.. because there are so many factors involved. In today’s times, there is tremendous pressure on websites like us and even trade analysts to be more lenient. Verdicts are no longer strict. Trade analysts like Komal Nahta (Film Information, ETC) used to be very strict when it came to verdicts before, but now even they follow official collections and verdicts. One of the reasons for this is to create perception that a film starring a big actor hasn’t failed and two, there is pressure from fans – which has only increased because of social media.
