Dabangg 2 Lucknow and Kanpur shoot begins next week

Arbaaz Khan Productions has reportedly got permission to film the Salman Khan-starrer action-comedy ‘Dabangg 2’ in the state capital. Major scenes will be shot in Lucknow and Kanpur from next week. According to sources in the state government, Arbaaz Khan Productions sought the green signal from the government to “commence shooting in the beautiful city”. A letter to this effect has also reached the Film Bandhu, a government body set up to oversee film development in the state. The five-day shooting would be conducted, “if all security and administrative issues are settled”, between Sep 9 and 14, a source said. 

Dabangg 2 postponed, Talaash to release for Christmas?

More rumours.. this time it’s a biggie! A source close to Salman Khan’s Dabangg 2 unit says, the film could be postponed to March 2013. While the news is yet to be officially confirmed, it does make a lot of sense. Prior to EID, director Arbaaz Khan had said “Dabangg 2 is almost 60 percent complete, we resume shoot after the promotion and release of Ek Tha Tiger”.

Ek Tha Tiger – Second Blockbuster of 2012

Ek Tha Tiger is now officially the second blockbuster of 2012. The film has absolutely shattered all box-office records – including those on the much-dreaded weekdays. Infact, what has come as a complete surprise for the trade, is the Tuesday collections (16.31), which is higher than Thursday (14.52) and Friday (12.9)  and almost as good as Saturday (16.75). These are jaw-dropping figures for working days.

18th September 2009, a day I would never forget. Stepping in to watch a evening show at a premium multiplex, I realised to my horror that the auditorium was barely 30%-40% occupied. The film was ‘Wanted’. A Salman Khan starrer no less. And even though the mass centres (especially single screens) had picked up  with weekend throwing up some good numbers, multiplexes had a different story to tell. Well, to begin with at least.
