The expectations from Salman Khan’s Veer that releases next weekend, is neither too high nor too low, which is just about perfect for any film. Veer should also benefit from the curiosity around it, chartbusting music is missing but the songs (from the trailers) have been shot well and have a certain pleasing look to it.
Box office over the years, hasn’t been too kind to historicals, hence the opening weekend is very important for a film like Veer. Khan’s strong hold has always been single screens, but what remains to be seen is how Veer performs at the all important multiplexes, which should eventually decide the fate of this high budget epic.

- Opening Weekend: 18 – 19 crores nett
- Opening Weekend if the film exceeds expectations: 22 crores nett

Anyone who thinks Veer is going to be an Alltime Blockbuster or even just a blockbuster is a typically highly-biased Salman khan fan. I am also a Salman fan, but I am not typical and biased. Instead I am realistic.
And realistically speaking, Veer has not generated much hype at all. The promos don’t look that great, and neither is the music. That being said, unless the film really is a gem, and is widely critically appreciated and has very very positive word of mouth; I don’t see it becoming any more than an Above Average to a Semi-hit grosser. Most likely, it is just going to be a below average fare or a flop!
As far as Salman fans who keep saying he is going to win all the awards for this movie. Calm the hell down cuz the movie has not even been released. From the promos, his performance looks good at best not award-winning!
Overall my prediction:::: VEER is going to be an Average Grosser to a Semi-hit at best!! And Salman’s performance in the film will be good and appreciated; it just won’t be award-winning! After that, I see all of these typical, hardcore, biased Salman fans making a fuss about how the indian awards are ragged just because Salman doesn’t get any awards for Veer.
If anyone disagrees, let’s hear it!! I’m open to all opinions, biased or not. This is my unbiased opinion and prediction!!

But i have to disagree with you on one thing, Veer wont be a semi-hit, it will comfortably be a hit. Salman Khan has induced some look in to his film with the “Veer Cup” and the race jockey course.
As far as Indicine Predictions go, they are always off. When it comes to Salman’s films, they usually over-estimate the collections.
Let’s take an example: Salman’s Super-Hit Wanted.

Indicine was wayyyyyyyyyyyy off because the film had excellent word of mouth. It was not rejected; yet it grossed 62 crores in India. Also indicine’s first week prediction is over-hyped by 10+ crores because Wanted’s first week was 34 crores.
Bottom line with Veer, I say 70 crore tops!! and please lets not compare it to Ghajini and 3 idiiots because it is not going to break their records. It won’t even be close. Some people said that wanted might beat Ghajini and in the end, even with decent to good reviews and great word of mouth; it only grossed half of Ghajini!!

Fair Enough you want to wait and see who is going to be at the Number two spot between the Three Khan’s in three months, but the reality is that SRK is recognised as the King of Bollywood. There is no doubt that Aamir Khan is a great actor, but by bringing in Salman Khan into the race of being a better actor than the two overall is recognised abit silly, from my point of view.
I am not a big fan of any actor in Bollywoood, but Some actors inspire the bollywood industry with thier Movies, i dont mean to say Salman Khan has not many any decent movies. Dont get me wrong, even Salman has given the biggest blockbusters, but Shah Rukh Khan has made his name in Bollywood, no matter how he made. He deserves the Credit rather than people hating him or being Jealous.
I reckon all the people who like Salman or want to see his dream project will forcefully be pulled into the Screens and some will be walking out and some might be walking out with long faces after the movie. Because not the sort of movie which will be doing well for long, I mean first two or three days it might be a hit, but after the news spreads out it will eventually be recognised as a Flop.

Anonymous, good comment. Now, box office is always very unpredictable, so these predictions are quite hard to make.
For example 3 idiots, not a single soul would have predicted the film would cross the lifetime business of Ghajini, forget a net of 200 crores from India. You can never get these ‘prediction’ figures right.
The problem with Wanted was, the multiplex business was below average. The film was liked, but only in the smaller towns and cities. If the multiplex business was better, the film would have easily touched 70 – 80 crores or probably even more.
Salman has always been popular with the masses, but will the so called ‘classes’ come out and watch Veer? Thats the real test.
Hina, just rumours, don’t think he will. But frankly, they should just end this cold war now, its been dragging on from long. Both undoubtedly have immense respect for each other.
Salman should go ahead and invite SRK, especially since SRK has publicly said he is looking forward to watching Veer.
Indicine..Yes Salman should invite Shahrukh 4 Veer Premier.Both have been gre8 friends over the years.N this is the correct time to burry the hatchet.This will also increase the box-office business of both Veer and MNIK.
Not sure about the box office revenues, its the content that matters. If the movie is good, it’ll work.
