Salman Khan’s Veer has opened to a fantastic response at the box office and is currently on a record-breaking spree on single screens. Business is best in North, East and Central India and worst down South.
Single screen business is 90% on Day 1 while multiplexes have seen around 50-60% average through the day. Combined, Veer has managed to nett 7 crores on Day 1 all over India.
As the film is performing best at single screens, it would be unfair to compare Veer based on box office nett collections. Going by the distributors share, the Day 1 business of Veer is next only to Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots and Ghajini.
Saturday too, the business is excellent at single screens and it would be very interesting to see how the film performs on its first crucial weekday. Tuesday, being a holiday (Republic day) should also boost the Week 1 collections.
If the trending is close to as good as Wanted, Veer should easily attain HIT status.

Veer has elevated Salman to the status of a God in Rajasthan, according to boxofficeindia!!! This kind of thing happens only in the South with mega stars like Rajnikanth, NT Rama Rao, MG Ramachandran etc – not even Kamal Hasan. Salman is the only Bollywood star with whom this is happening. Apparently, in Rajasthan people coming out of the theatres are taking cutouts of Salman and garlanding him. Soon there will be temples for Salman after Veer!! This is truly amazing. Veer has obviously struck a chord with the janta.

I saw veer today … i read the review of taran… there is not even single point of similarity between review and actual film except the song is repeated in whole film but it is used beautifully as background score. I think they have beautifully made the movie .. and SALMAN acted his heart out… if u think an indian director to make a TROY its not possible but VEER is equally good as TROY when compared to INDIAN standard of film making .. i will rate 3 stars overall.. and who ever wrote the review was out of his mind.. or he has just saw the trailers and reviewed the movie..AND one thing he has written correctly U have to be VEER to See the VEER coz AFTER his review one has to be VEER to still go and see the movie .Which is a good action movie with lots of drama romance and emotions..

I just recently watched Veer, and i was so amazed and angry to see that the Reviews given by some of the critics… its a shame how people try to influence people by their own prejudice…. the Film is not copy of any Hollywood movie what so ever…. i really enjoyed the movie and box office will surly give us the idea of the movie being hit or whatever… but instinct is positive after watching the movie… lets hope for the best….
Salman Khan should do more movies like Wanted and Veer which caters to the common man unlike SRK’s movies which appeals to an elite section of the population.
Just saw Karan Johar’s Lift Karade with Salman Khan. It was Karan’s best interview ever, thanks to Salman’s charisma and his terrific on screen chemistry with Karan. In fact, the chemistry between the two is so fabulous that Karan should do Dostana 2 only with Salman and Karan Johar himself in the leads!!! Don’t look at anybody else, Karan and be assured the film will be your biggest hit ever. Only the story may have to be slightly altered to suit Salman’s personality!! Incidentally, at some point in Lift Karade, Karan winked at Salman. Are they sharing some common secret? All in all, it was a fantastic programme.

Now that Veer is clearly in the safe zone despite the critics slamming it, Salman should immediately get some newspapers incl Hindi and language papers to write that Veer is doing very well at the box office and is the first success of 2010.
