FAN has collected Rs 18-19 crore on Sunday at the box office, taking the 3-day collections to 52 – 53 crore net – as per early estimates (official collections will be published in the morning).
Multiplex business did show decent growth on the 3rd day, especially at metro cities where the occupancy for the noon and evening shows was pretty good.
Monday now becomes all important for the Shah Rukh Khan starrer. Tickets at multiplexes are sold for a cheaper price during the weekdays. For example, PVR Juhu in Mumbai was selling night show tickets for Rs 380 for the weekend, the same show ticket for the weekdays (Monday to Thursday) is 30% cheaper at Rs 270.
Since the film is performing mainly at multiplexes, the drop in ticket prices will have an impact on business.
Ideally, FAN needs to hold to around the 9-10 crore mark on Monday. This would give the film a fair chance of not only recovering costs, but going on to become a decent grosser.

- Friday – 19.2 crore
- Saturday – 15.4 crore
- Sunday – 18-19 crore (approx, early estimate)
- Total – 53 crore (approx)
This Mahneesh d director is somehow responsible in a way too. Don’t know what came into his mind to make such kind of sensitive/controversial movie? Ofcourse it’s dedicated to most of his fans but overall audience is what business trade is all about.
Also I have to express my mind. As I said they are few annoying fans of Srk that just blabber… Worst is am tired of their excuses always from them….right from Dilwale…

if a movie gets 18- 19 cr without any actress and song in a country like india where still large amount of people enjoy song dance comedy, its purly srk stardom, so for Raees it s for a masses, definitely it will b bluckbuster and better than anyother movies whether clash or not. so not to worry. Shah rukh khan is King that’s why everyone is after him on social media.

I went to inox pune for jungle book, all shows were sold out n ttickets were available for fan. Also I noticed that many people came to watch jungle book n went for fan due to unavailability of tickets :-p
So so movie except digital effects.
No matter how much Fan will earn but as an actor what Srk has done and earned is beyond any numbers.
SRK performance in Fan excellent and will win best actor award for this year

Lol at all you haters. Swades was a flop and is perhaps SRK’s best film. Fan was never meant to be universal. No songs, no heroine, and especially VERY dark for family audiences. We SRK fans are happy with the business for a film that would have tanked with ANY OTHER STAR.
And btw, SRK’s performance is his BEST EVER. To be very frank, not even a young AMITABH BACHCHAN could have pulled this off. We love you SRK and all the best to the dark horse Raees. :)

@ aisha at 1:39 am : This was an experimental kind of film which failed and it happens. But at least as a SRK fan am happy that Maneesh Sharma and SRK gave a shot with this movie and tried something different. The concept of the movie was good but probably Maneesh erred in direction but still it was all worth a shot. Even a big director like Mani Ratnam has failed in Dil Se with SRK but still am happy that SRK did both Dil Se and Fan. Nobody does a movie thinking that their movie will flop at box office and that they will be fine with it. It is obvious that both Maneesh and Mani Ratnam would have also thought that it will also do good trade business but if everyone can predict audiences taste exactly then there will never be a flop movie. So it is ur perspective when u say that there was no need to make such a controversial movie but not mine.
And if the movie fails then it just simply fails without any excuses. No excuses whatever the box returns are. It is time for SRK haters to rejoice and they r making the most of it. Good for them. We dont need any advices or consolations. This is a difficult phase for SRK but have full faith that his Raees and other future movies will deliver big time.
Collection is decent i guess. BO is unpredictable. People who were calling Talash a failure needs to understand genre is important for being a big grosser.. Its difficult for a Fan or Talaash to be huge grosser due to limited capacity of this genre..
SRK is facing acute negativity and media is adding up to it. Hardly before FAN was out in theaters and a pirated version of entire movie was on internet. Some Bangladeshi swine did this as he posted something in Bengali in the video clip and also displayed his mobile number. And after all this, the same media is doing the remaining drama that movie is not for masses, it has no songs, not for small centers, etc… And Indicine has been negative about it from the day FAN was announced… numerous articles to shower pure negativity.
Looks like they are never going to allow SRK movies have a good run in India, but don’t worry SRK, we all will support you globally. I watched the movie twice here in Michigan.

I don`t know why people keep praising Stellar Performance by Shah Rukh whilst the film is a major let down and now comparing its box office performance with Jai Ho which has only SALMAN as highlight. How can the media and fans of Shah Rukh don`t acknowlege that FAN has YASH RAJ (the biggest Production n most powerful of bollywood ) to back it? It`s a flop because of self praise n self glorification of self proclaimed so called king of Bollywood! Its pure downfall, everyone knows who the real King of Bollywood is!!! If they have guts now just release Raees vs Sultan as much publicize Dilwale vs Bajirao, saying just b4 the release even if 4 films release that day, he would still release Dilwale!!
