I Hate Luv Stories Movie Review

I Hate Luv Stories directed by Punit Malhotra (nephew of costume designer Manish Malhotra) is a take on some of the most popular love stories that you have seen. The promos were fresh and clicked big time with the audience, the music too was very popular and the film has immense buzz surrounding. Quite obvious since the film is produced under one of Bollywood’s most reputed production houses, Dharma Productions. The film stars Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor.

Raavan Movie Review

Mani Ratnam is a  director who revolutionized Tamil cinema with films like Nayagan, Roja, Bombay and many more. In Hindi, some of his films like Dil Se and Guru are watched and loved even today. So quite obviously, Raavan starring Ratnam’s favorite actor Abhishek Bachchan carries huge expectations. The film adapted from one of India’s greatest epics, the Ramayana, also stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Tamil superstar Vikram, Govinda, Ravi Kissen, Nikhil Diwedi amongst others. Raavan is an

Bum Bum Bole Movie Review

A short review for primarily two reasons. One, not many are keen on watching this Priyadarshan directed film starring India’s first and arguably only child superstar Darsheel Safary and two, the trailers weren’t too promising and neither is the film. Bum Bum Bole is about Pinu (Darsheel Safary) and his family. His father Khogiran (Atul Kulkarni) and mother (Rituparna Sengupta) have lost their jobs.  And although the family suffers from poverty, its Khogiram’s dream to see his kids well educated. He can’t afford school fees or uniform, yet he somehow manages to send them to good schools.

Badmaash Company Movie Review

Parmeet Sethi, best remembered for his negative act in Shahrukh Khan’s Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, makes his directorial debut with Badmaash Company starring Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma (who made her debut in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi in 2008), Meiyang Chang (Indian Idol fame), Vir Das and Anupam Kher. Coming from Yashraj Films, the film was believed to be similar to Bunty Aur Babli, but Shahid in an interview said “Badmaash Company is a lot more believable, Bunty and Babli was restricted in conning.” Is Badmaash Company smart and entertaining enough?

Jaane Kahan Se Aayi Hai Movie Review

Love between a man from Earth and girl (alien) from Venus, sounds quite interesting and at the same time slightly weird, doesn’t it? Milap Zaveri on debut as director brings together actors like Ritesh Deshmukh, Satish Shah, Jacqueline Fernandez, Vishal Malhotra, Sonal Sehgal and Ruslaan Mumtaz in this comic caper released under the People Tree Films  and Warner Bros banner. Milap Zaveri in the past has been credited as the story writer for films like Shaadi No 1 and Masti to name a few. The story is about Rajesh (Ritesh Deshmukh) who has been in search of love ever since he was a child. Unlucky and frustrated he looses all hope until he meets

Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge Movie Review

When actors like Paresh Rawal, Ajay Devgan and Konkana Sen Sharma come together under the director (Ashwini Dheer) of the hit-television series Office Office, it does create enough curiosity around the film to catch it first day first show. Also, we loved the poster and the pre-release trailers. The plot of Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge is simple and something most of us can easily identify with. The movie revolves around three characters – Puneet (Ajay Devgan) who is a script writer, his wife Munmun (Konkona Sen Sharma) who is a interior designer and the athiti Chachaji (Paresh Rawal). Although their life was a

Karthik Calling Karthik Movie Review

From Farhan Akhtar you expect quality films, Karthik Calling Karthik is no different. The title itself arouses a bit of curiosity, imagine waking up to a call from someone who claims to be you..! Teen Patti Movie Review

After a disastrous outing with Shabd half a decade ago, Leena Yadav returns with a dream-cast. It can’t get bigger or better than Amitabh Bachchan and Sir Ben Kingsley sharing screen-space, can it? Leena with help from producer Ambika Hinduja, has also managed to rope in several other talented actors – Madhavan, Raima Sen and several other in short cameos like Shakthi Kapoor and Ajay Devgan to name a few. All could mean nothing if the script and its execution go wrong, does Leena get it right with Teen Patti? Read on.

Toh Baat Pakki Review

Toh Baat Pakki marks the return of National Award winning actress Tabassum Hashmi, popularly known as Tabu, who was last seen opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Cheeni Kum. The film also stars Sharman Joshi, fresh from the record breaking success of 3 Idiots. Apart from the talented star-cast there really wasn’t much in the trailers, to evoke any kind of interest to watch the film. Does the movie work? Read on to find out.

My Name Is Khan Movie Review

We’ve never really been huge fans of Karan Johar films – Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was good, K3G was okay, KANK was terrible. Hence we were slightly cynical about My Name Is Khan. But the film is special for several reasons; it has one of the biggest stars in the country playing a not-so-perfect character and two, SRK and Kajol return for what could be their last outing together. Do they recreate on-screen magic with MNIK? Read on to find out. Rizwan Khan (Shahrukh Khan) suffering from Asperger’s syndrome, moves to San Francisco after spending most of his life in Mumbai.
