Mary Kom First Week Collections: Biopic underperforms at the box office

After a good opening weekend, Mary Kom has failed to sustain during the weekdays at the domestic box office. The film had a good first weekend of Rs 28 crore, but business across all circuits dropped by nearly 60% on Monday from Sunday. The slide from Monday onwards wasn’t big, but the damage was done on the first weekday itself.

Mardaani Monday Box Office Collections

Rani Mukerji’s Mardaani has done well on its first weekday at the box office, collecting a decent fourth day total of Rs 2.44 cr net.The drop from Friday is 26%, which is decent but the opening on Friday was on the lower side. The YRF film has been awarded tax free status in the state of Madhya Pradesh which should help boost business in circuits like C.P Berar and C.I. Unfortunately, the film is not doing too well in these circuits as most of the business is coming from Mumbai.

Singham Returns Monday Collections and Tuesday Update

Update 12:30AM: With collections pouring in, Singham Returns seems to have collected around 8-9 crore on Tuesday. The film had bigger drops in a few circuits. Singham Returns is all set to cross the 100 crore mark today, as the film has held up well on its first all-india working weekday at the box office. Monday was a holiday in some parts of the country, but most offices and schools were open. Yet, the film managed to collect Rs 14.78 crore at the box office.

Singham Returns Sunday Box Office Collection Update

Singham Returns continued its glorious run in theatres on Sunday. Business throughout the country has picked up on Sunday. The average growth in business at most centres that we tracked till early evening (4PM shows) was around 30% higher than Saturday.
