Aamir Khan – The Rising

Aamir Khan – The Rising, a title inspired from his comeback movie Mangal Pandey. Rising, indeed, what a rise it has been! While Mangal Pandey opened to huge numbers, the negative word of mouth and reviews meant the film settled as the third biggest grosser of the year (2005). It was only due to the huge costs the film didn’t do too well commercially, although it recovered its investment. Post Mangal Pandey, Aamir Khan never looked back and the box office collections of his films have only increased with each release. Check out these staggering numbers.

Raksha: Ram Gopal Varma’s 3D film

Sent by Ram Gopal Varma for publication. **************************** After getting hit by the incredibly enormous impact of AVATAR and then once you get over the dazzling Special EFX and the unimaginable imagination of James Cameron if you just concentrate solely on only the 3D aspect of it you will see that it surely and clearly opens up a new dimension for any kind of cinema not necessarily only for huge mega budget special EFX films like Avatar. Not that 3D is a completely new phenomenon. I still remember standing in the line to get tickets for “Chota Chetan” at Ramakrishna 70mm in Hyderabad and wondering what exactly 3D means. Most Romantic Love song of the Decade!

This decade has witnessed quite a few romantic gems, but if we have to pick one, it would have to be Wada Raha from Rajkumar Santoshi’s Khakhee. The music was composed by débutante Ram Sampat, who never really managed to match the success of Khakhee with his last few albums. Sung by Arnab Chakravorty and Shreya Ghosal, Wada Raha was beautifully picturized. Lead stars Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai shared great chemistry. Watch the video below. What’s your most favorite romantic song this decade?

The advance booking that opened earlier this week, was fantastic. The paid previews playing at 2 shows per screen (7PM and 10PM) at multiplexes in select cities were sold out. With Friday being a holiday for Christmas, 3 Idiots will

Aamir too expensive : Vidhu Vinod Chopra

Aamir Khan’s absconding act proved to be an expensive affair for producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who says that Aamir’s promotional activity – of disappearing and appearing in disguises in different parts of the country – was more expensive than making 3 Idiots. “This was a unique concept suggested by Aamir that proved very expensive for me as Aamir doesn’t travel by trains. He traveled by jet planes to make the journey quick as he had to travel to different cities all over India,” said producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Aamir explained that the unique plan was suggested by
