Salman Khan’s Veer has opened to a fantastic response at the box office and is currently on a record-breaking spree on single screens. Business is best in North, East and Central India and worst down South.
Single screen business is 90% on Day 1 while multiplexes have seen around 50-60% average through the day. Combined, Veer has managed to nett 7 crores on Day 1 all over India.
As the film is performing best at single screens, it would be unfair to compare Veer based on box office nett collections. Going by the distributors share, the Day 1 business of Veer is next only to Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots and Ghajini.
Saturday too, the business is excellent at single screens and it would be very interesting to see how the film performs on its first crucial weekday. Tuesday, being a holiday (Republic day) should also boost the Week 1 collections.
If the trending is close to as good as Wanted, Veer should easily attain HIT status.

and when ever he put his review before friday he always gives good rating
it shows that producer shows him movie and pay hi some handsome amount to give good review.

The production budget of VEER is 40 crore plus another 5 crore are going to be spent in marketing/advertising/distribution costs .
So we are looking at 45 crore that needs to be recovered before it makes any profit or money .
Don’t just look at the GROSS sales or NETT sales at the Box Ofiice…see how much the distributors are going to get after the entertainment tax , theatres taking their cut ( both multiplexes & single screens ) etc are deducted from the GROSS sales .
I think the movie will just about break even & just recover its costs of 45 crores after ALL the theatrical , DVD , Music and TV rights revenues are added .
Taran has finaly gone made now. He has reviewed the rann before it’s release. He has been planning to down veer but he will not succed.

The truth is that no one, repeat no one, in Bollywood can match Salman Khan’s charisma and star appeal – not even Aamir Khan or Shah Rukh Khan. And I am not a crazy Salman fan. This is just the plain truth. Even political parties which were earlier fooled into believing that Shah Rukh was the biggest star have now woken up to the fact that the biggest of them all is Salman. In fact, he has always been ever since his sensational debut in Maine Pyar Kiya. What came as an eye opener for political parties was the tremendous response Salman evoked in all the political rallies that he addressed in the General elections of 2009 and what is more, most of his candidates won!! His star power is reflected again in the huge response that Veer is getting in single screens across India’s biggest states like UP and Bihar. Single screens continue to account for more than 65 % of India’s theatrical business. Critics who clearly belong to certain Bollywood camps hostile to Salman know this – like Anupama Chopra of NDTV and Kaveree Bamzai of Headlines Today and that is why they try to slam all his films so that at least the multiplex crowds do not go to see Salman’s films. This, dear friends, is the strategy of our so-called critics since they know that the masses – i.e., the single screen crowds – cannot be influenced by their so-called reviews. So they just focus on influencing the mutiplex audiences to hurt Salman. If Salman is clever, he should work out a strategy immediately to counter this. Finally, nobody can deny that only a Salman Khan can make a film co-starring absolute non-startes like Mithun-Jackie-Sohail work. Three Idiots had the advantage of having Raj Kumar Hirani who is Bollywood’s best director today as its director, while most Akki films have either big directors like Priyadarshan or big co-stars. Salman is the Super star of super stars in a very real sense of the term – he is not media-made. That is why somebody has coined a new word to describe Salman’s acting – “charismacting”!!!
