Salman Khan’s Veer has opened to a fantastic response at the box office and is currently on a record-breaking spree on single screens. Business is best in North, East and Central India and worst down South.
Single screen business is 90% on Day 1 while multiplexes have seen around 50-60% average through the day. Combined, Veer has managed to nett 7 crores on Day 1 all over India.
As the film is performing best at single screens, it would be unfair to compare Veer based on box office nett collections. Going by the distributors share, the Day 1 business of Veer is next only to Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots and Ghajini.
Saturday too, the business is excellent at single screens and it would be very interesting to see how the film performs on its first crucial weekday. Tuesday, being a holiday (Republic day) should also boost the Week 1 collections.
If the trending is close to as good as Wanted, Veer should easily attain HIT status.
Veer has done slightly better than estimated early. The first day business is 7 crore approx including its Telugu version.
This makes the first day of Veer the sixth biggest ever after
Three Idiots (13 cr),
Ghajini (9 cr),
Love Aaj Kal (8 cr),
Kambakkht Ishq (7.50 cr) and
Singh Is Kinng (7.25 cr).
The first day distributor share is the third highest ever at around 4.25-4.50 crore.
The film has performed superbly in Delhi/UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, CP Berar, CI and Nizam. Mumbai and West Bengal are okay. East Punjab amd Mysore are on the lower side.The territorial nett breakdowns for India are as follows.
Mumbai – 2.35 crore
Delhi/UP – 1.45 crore
East Punjab – 45 lakhs
West Bengal – 35 lakhs
Bihar – 20 lakhs
CP Berar – 40 lakhs
CI – 27 lakhs
Rajasthan – 57 lakhs
Nizam (Hindi) – 35 lakhs
Nizam (Telugu) – 17 lakhs
Mysore – 20 lakhs
Others – 25 lakhs

i know veer will collect good coolection in its 1st weeknd but veer downfall started from monday coz public r not looking happy with veer
. i saw veer in multiplex , no one clap on any scene. but after end of most of audience abushing the salman for his poor performance and poor movie.

Zakir, unless Salman is consistent with his openings with each film, you can’t compare him to Akshay’s box office power. We don’t mean popularity here, but almost every Akshay – Hrithik – SRK – Aamir films have opened to huge numbers both at multiplexes and single screens (although not as good as Wanted or Veer).
Consistency is important, Salman can’t afford disasters like Main Aur Mrs Khanna in between. Lets see, his next few films like Mr India 2, Judwaa 2 have strong appeal at both multiplexes and single screens. Exciting times ahead for you guys i.e Salman fans :)

abe adiii u see veer collections, it will be super hit, publc response is awesome, i saw veer 3 times till now, all 3 times peoples were shouting like mad including me, now sallu has become god to our india, and u see on 26th jan tak to veer phod degi, negative critics also can,t make fall to veer ok, now no one can stop veer to make history, peoples have understood that all critics are paid, thank god……………..sallu bhaai jindabad………….veer will make history for sure dekhna………..
