Most successful Bollywood Actors: 2010 – 2015

Following up on yesterday’s ‘Most Successful Actors between 2000 and 2009‘, we have the list of actors that were most successful in the current decade. 2016 releases haven’t been included while calculating the figures because a lot of big stars like Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, Varun Dhawan and Ranveer Singh haven’t had a release so far this year.

The analysis does have quite a few surprises! Read on..

  • Arjun Kapoor - 54.8 crore
  • Emraan Hashmi – 39.7 crore
  • Shahid Kapoor – 33.4 crore

Success Ratio i.e Above Average or better  (probably the most important, because it’s the percentage of films that recovered investment)

  • Shah Rukh Khan - 100%
  • Varun Dhawan – 100%
  • Salman Khan – 90%
  • Aamir Khan – 75%
  • Hrithik Roshan – 67%
  • Ranbir Kapoor – 50%
  • Arjun Kapoor – 50%
  • Sidharth Malhotra – 50%
  • Ranveer Singh - 50%

  • Hrithik Roshan – 67%
  • Aamir Khan – 50%
  • Ranbir Kapoor – 50%
  • Arjun Kapoor – 50%
  • Sidharth Malhotra – 50%
  • Ranveer Singh - 50%
  • Ajay Devgn – 39%
  • Emraan Hashmi - 36%
  • Akshay Kumar – 33%
  • Shahid Kapoor – 20%

Blockbuster Ratio (this was worth pointing out, simply because the difference between actors is huge!)

  • Salman Khan – 70%
  • Aamir Khan – 50%
  • Ranbir Kapoor – 25%
  • Hrithik Roshan – 17%
  • Shah Rukh Khan – 14%
  • Emraan Hashmi – 14%
  • Ajay Devgn – 11%
  • Akshay Kumar – 5%

In conclusion, it’s quite clear that the decade so far has belonged to Salman Khan. Veer had to be included in the list because it released after 2010 and that hurt his success ratio. Apart from that, Jai Ho missed out on a ‘hit’ verdict. Those two films aside, he hasn’t put a foot wrong. Salman has a 70% blockbuster ratio i.e 7 out of his 10 films were blockbusters or better. This record, in itself, is better than every other stat that we’ve mentioned and we had to include it simply because no other actor has probably achieved it before. It’s hard to describe how huge it is, because his blockbuster count is almost the same as all other actors combined! His 10 films have also collected about 200 crore more than Akshay Kumar’s 21 films!

Shah Rukh Khan is the biggest surprise here. Between 2010 and 2015, he hasn’t had a film that has been completely rejected. No film has failed to cross the 200 crore worldwide mark either (of course, Fan hasn’t, but that film was this year). He and Varun Dhawan are the only actors with a 100% success ratio. Shah Rukh’s hit ratio is the highest too, not too bad for a man who’s supposedly going through a career low?! It’ll be interesting to see how the next 5 years pan out for him.

Aamir Khan missed out with Dhobi Ghat and Talaash, but hit the ball out of the park with Dhoom 3 and PK. He does very few films, but those few have worked big. Ajay Devgn’s box office performance was much improved as compared to the previous decade, quite a few of his films have done well.

Hrithik has been consistent, good success ratio, great average per film.. Kites and Guzaarish were his big failures. He needs to up the ante a bit and do more films.

Akshay Kumar tops the ‘number of films’ list once again, he’s easily been the most prolific. His average, which was in the mid-70s until the end of 2015, has also improved with his two releases in 2016. His choice of films is making a difference at the ticket window.

The younger stars like Varun, Arjun, Sidharth, Ranbir and Ranveer have had great starts to their career. Their success ratio is very high compared to the first few years of actors who made their debuts in the 90s. It shows that they take each of their films very seriously. Special mention for Varun, he’s been terrific. The very fact that a film like ‘Dilwale’ has been his biggest box office disappointment, says a lot about his career so far. ‘Dishoom’ will be a test.

Emraan hasn’t had a bad decade, he was doing well in the beginning, but has faltered in the last 3-4 years. Shahid has been very poor, way too many failures against his name.

  • @Sss

    Akshay has 10 semi hits…
Add it to 23… He has the same Hit /semi hit with SRK.??

You are the only foolish Srk sir fan that always cause rifts between other fans.

How can you say Salman has 23 hits/semi while Srk 33… Does it make sense?

Pls.. Adjust!! Be sensible when posting stats.

  • @indicine – Dhobi ghat was not an aamir khan film….
it was a type of documentary movie
Aamir has done only 3 films
    Talaash,D3 & pk

You dumbistani mekanik if Ready, Bodyguard, Kick etc are not Bhai movies due to being remakes then how does don, devdas and these 26 movies bcm bhagoda movies???

  • @mekanik:

    Check here…http://www.indicine.com/boxoffice/india/shahrukh-khan/

    Srk has…..
    only 8 blockbusters, not 10.
Only 27 clean hits, not 33.

    Check here too…http://www.indicine.com/boxoffice/india/salman-khan/

    Bhai has….
12 blockbusters not 11 (much more than srk).
28 clean hits not 23 (more than srk).

We know that your king has no more AUKAAT to surpass 100cr mark. Iska Matlab tu kuch bhi bakta rehega kya??? Your king needs 3.7 billion more birth to the MEGASTARDOM of Bhai!

  • @aisha,wow again koyla fans forgot the way of talking, right?you’re going after my profession that shows you people’s mentality of thinking that exactly matches with bhojpuri community.oh yes,it’s because of you because of which I stopped to bash ajay devgan being a stubborn hater because of his feet licking nature.but no,you proved me wrong time to time that peoples like you should deserve no mercy.

And what exactly did your koyla with LAMHE that’s doesn’t at all matters for me.because neither at that time YRF was that much big neither they were able to give hit with their non masala movies with whom ajay’s masala debut clashed.a nd shamelessly after lost the clash that shameless did a case against YRF and shamefully lost with no regret.

But you freshened my scar again by making me remember about 2012 clash which happened under the supervision of backstabber salman who advised to believe in his work so that that feet licker Devgan could shift the release date June/July(which shown in the sos trailer) to DEEWALI,so that he can stop THE MEGALEGENDS JODI’S CLASSIC.

and you 3rd class movie watchers are still shamelessly remembering those events with proudly how that 3rd class south remake movie interrupted A CLASSIC.wow that’s your class illiterates.now I know you’ll blabber ajay didn’t lock the feet of salamn with dozens of excuses but the truth known by all.this is the simple reason why I hated that wife beaten non actor’s feet licking star from the core of my heart and of course due to his arrogant nature with null sense of humour.

And yeah I made a fault because usually I have not revised ajay/akshay’s hits/semi hits from a long time for which I made that mistake.but rest the things which I presented is completely true. And I was also wrong in having of idea that his total flops less salman, which is exactly one/two higher or tied with salman.that’s also I forgot, rofl.

And in which bhojpuri sites, you found those long list of below average/flops as hits retard?

Actually I follow boi.com’s verdicts(only).and from much analysis from multiple sites I have based on my verdicts which equal(not biased for a particular star) for every star according to me,

And there at many below averages of past days which might shows above averages which I never count.

So with out giving any doubt ,I”m declaring clean hits for each star

    KING SRK (29)>>>>salman (23)>akki (22) (23)>>>>>ajay (19).

Still if we consider CLEAN HIT-CLEAN FLOP COMPARISON(avoiding below, above average, semi hits)(all are leading starrer movies)

THEN HERE IS THE REAL MEGASTAR

    KING SRK—-29>>>>>>>>>19(SUPER HIT STAR)(IN JUST 24 YEARS)

    If we now consider others

    amir—-11<<<<<<16(flop star)(in 28 years)

    salman—-23<<<<<<<<<<<46(disaster star)(in 27 years)

    ajay—-19<<<<<<<<<<<45(disaster star)(in 25 years)

    Akshay kumar—-22<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>salamn(23-24)

    If flops

    KING KHAN(19)>>>>>>>>>>>salman(40+)

KING KHAN’S HITS(28-29)>>>>>>>>>>>>flops(19)—-ALL TIME BIGGEST HIT STAR.

    sallu’s hits(23-25)>>>>>>>>>>>flops/disasters(40+)—-decade struggler flop/disaster star.

Now accept THE REALITY,ROFL.now don’t say star having flops/disasters more than hits.just giving 1 blockbuster more in taking 3 extra years depending on only masala genre and remakes can’t make one above star.if he has 1 blockbuster more then at the Sam etime he has 5 disasters too more than KING SRK,nownwho’ll count that?,rofl.

Now say who is big!!!!!,rofl.I know that your star has no aukat to give the biggest opening without taking BADSHAH’S NAME and can’t give hit with out masala genre, and can give biggest flop of decades(40cr disaster veer/30 lakhs all time disaster nischaiy),rofl.

    That doesn’t mean you hit-run-bhagoda doesn’t mean kuch bhi bakega,and WE’LL accept that,rofl.

@tiger,if you need that kind of inspired list then I can provide you all 68 films of salman are copying/inspired from a fan mad exist.and the list you have given of hollywood movies of many are being watched by me and I too knew non of a bit scene matches with any KING KHAN movies that you have mentioned.so stop dreaming like a fool.

And when I removed south remakes from bhai’s blockbuster/hgoty list?show me.ratger I said your bhai’s all bb/hgoty almost all are masala genre .while KING KHAN’S ALMOST ALL BBS/HGOTYS are CLASSICS.

and I also stated that that much success your bhai gained in 27 years while KING SRK gained that in just 24 YEARS.

and when I said I refer @indicine like salman biased site for giving verdicts or showing movie list?????is this the only site exists, there are so many sites existed.w which showed flops/below average like even judwaa as a hit and hiding nischaiy’s collection to save bhai’s image.and showed A HIT like YES BOSS an above average.so they need to update their old movie verdicts, rofl.

AND MANY SITES have actually changed verdicts now of KING KHAN’S 2/3 blockbuster to super hit status.which I’M actually followed.while old boi.com which actually restored some of the verdicts again.though I gave the information s based in many sites and the film’s basic collection given in all sites over the years.j just like many sites shown the verdict of no entry and partner from bb to super hit or super hit to bb status.

KING KHAN has 11 BLOCKBUSTERS—-DDLJ,KA,DTPH,K2H2,MB,K3G,VZ,CDI,OSO,RNBDJ,CE(ALMOST ALL ARE CLASSICS)+19 flops+0 disasters in 24 years of career.still new boi.com is showing that even DARR too a BLOCKBUSTER ,but I have doubt so I will still count it as SUPER HIT .at least I’m not honest not opportunist.

and Bhai has 12 blockbusters(just one more than KING KHAN)—-mpk,hahk,hssh,partner,dabang,ready,bg,ett,dabang-!!,kick,bb+35 flops+3-7 disasters in 27 years.

And it’s a joke that salman ha amir clean hits than KING KHAN.kal ko tu ye bhi bol dega chimney pandey—-but has more hits than KING KHAN,ROFL.

CLEAN HITS OF KING KHAN—-28-29(excluding semi hits, above averages I n lead role only)>>>>>>>>>>>>>flops(19)—- ALL TIME SUPER HIT STAR.

clean hits of salman—-23-24(excluding semi hits, averages in lead role only)<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<40+ flops—-salamn time flop/disaster star.

  • @indicine Dhobi Ghat’s budget was 10 mil and it made about 20 mil which is above average and also Taalash was a hit, I don’t know why your trying to make Aamir look bad but that’s not fair to him.

  • my favourite actor salman khan.he is the biggest king of box office.he is the only actor(or superstar) who hasn’t given any of the kiss movie in his whole carrier like every other actor is getting hit movies with kisses and vulgar words in the movie. he is the only superstar who is kind to every religion and is the very best actor in bollywood. love him very much as giving every hit movie

  • Srk king of Bollywood aise hi nahi hai …Srk abme aahe hai
Bollywood ka sbse acha acting vala lead actor hai to vo
    Srk
    Aamir
    Emraan Hashmi
    Ajay Devgan
    Akshay Kumar
