Right from the day Krrish 3 released in theatres, the producers of the film have been accused of ‘over-reporting’ the domestic box office collections of Krrish 3.
In a statement, producer-director Rakesh Roshan has said that most in the trade only go by assumptions and only know about 70% of the box office.
The veteran filmmaker said “Till Tuesday the all India net collection was Rs 237 crore (actuals till Tuesday Rs 236.52) while the international gross collections was Rs 54 crore. I don’t know about Krrish 3 breaking the records of Chennai Express but I know my figures and I feel elated.”
“We have put in so much of honesty and sincerity in the film. I am sure other films will break our records, but that doesn’t matter. It gives me an incentive to make better films, that’s all.”
“I’m not in a position to fudge the figures by Rs 40-50 crore. People don’t know the exact figures but I get all the figures from all over India in the morning. People just go by assumptions and know only 70% of box office while I know 100%. We opened at 4300 screens”

I really don’t know what their intentions were, but when they asked me for the figures, I willingly gave them the same. Now they say that the figure of Rs. 237.15 crores is gross and not nett.
I don’t know where this buzz about fake figures has emerged from, but I feel that there are some people who really don’t bother to go to the interiors and other sectors in a more detailed way to find out the actual numbers. I know the real figures; I have been getting updates from all my distributors, exhibitors and from places where my film is running right from the first day itself. So, I don’t really care about this line of thinking
How can I fudge Rs. 40-50 crore? Is it really that simple or is it a joke to change and pump up the collections? Besides they say that the figures I have shared are gross figures. In fact if I look at the gross figures that include the entertainment tax, and everything else, then Krrish 3’s collection has crossed Rs. 500 crores. I think they really need to go back and learn the difference between gross and nett figures first.
According to trade, the film has entered the Rs200-crore club thanks to its collections in India alone.
Truth?“No,” says a trade analyst who doesn’t wish to be named. The Roshans’ latest film (now running in its third week) has upset Aamir, Shah Rukh and Salman Khan as the trade figures given out are inflated andK3is being touted the highest domestic Bollywood grosser of all time.
While the fact is that while the figures are correct they are gross figures, not net (like the Khans’ films) and also these figures include earnings from Hindi, Tamil, Telugu
Hrithik’s next will do 300 cr of BO business and another will make 400 crores. Jal jal ke marte raho for ur entire life :D

Rakesh Roshan told that his movie collected more the 500th crore gross, and net a minus of 40% (on the average since at different states the percent on entertainment, here and there and 50% reach). And if who went to school then we consider together:
House collections:
X crore – 100%
237 crore – 60% X = 237*100/60=395 crore
The foreign:
X crore – 100%
54 crore – 60% X = 54*100/60=90 crore
TOTAL: 395 + 90 = 485 crore
And if to count other rights, on music, satellite, etc. that… More 600 ???? can leave! ! !
And now it is interesting to me! ! ! ! If a difference the 60th crore, how many Roshan paid in treasury? ? ?

60 crore – 60% X = 60*40/60 = the 40th crore

This is what I found. They said the possibility of becoming the highest grosser of all time and now they are saying 4th highest grossing. Did Krrish 3 really under perform because their prediction was way off then.

Krrish 3 is looking set for a huge Tuesday with collections looking to cross the 20 crore nett mark which will take the film to a little over 100 crore nett in five days.
The family audience has taken to the film in a big way and now the film can go anywhere with the possibility of being the highest grosser of all time.
North India and Central India which are the key mass belts have been phenomenal since Monday. The metros are not performing as well as the other centres but thats mainly due to the fact the collections outside the four big metros are simply phenomenal.
The weekend collections of Krrish 3 were the seventh highest of all time but the first seven day figures will go into third place and even possibly second place.
According to them:
ETT: 186 cr
CE: 208 cr
So, 22 cr difference. That means the prediction proved wrong by around 25 crs according to them. Is it really believable? Instead of highest grossing, it is now 4th highest grossing after CE, 3 Idiots and ETT. You can clearly see whose records are they protecting.

The drop on its eight day has to be much less than the drops over the past two days in order to have a chance of becoming all time highest grosser. Krrish 3 did help up well (31 cr net) during the second weekend (2nd highest after 3 Idiots according to them). Still after all this, they are saying 4th highest grossing film. How come? First, they say something and then even if the film exactly does that, they still contradict themselves by saying it fails to beat this record.
Krrish 3 Has Third Highest First Week

Krrish 3 recorded the third highest first week of time only behind Chennai Express and Ek Tha Tiger over the first seven day run. The film has collected a little over 123 crore nett. If the film can break the second weekend record it has chances of becoming the highest grossing film of all time but in order to that the drop on its eight day has to be much less than the drops over the past two days. The business of Krrish 3 so far is as follows.
Friday – 18.75 crore
Saturday – 15.50 crore
Sunday – 15 crore
Monday – 31.50 crore
Tuesday – 20.50 crore
Wednesday 13 crore
Thursday – 9 crore nett
TOTAL – 123.25 crore nett
A dubbed Telugu and Tamil version of the film has collected around 7 crore nett with most of the business coming in Telugu. The film is a record grosser as far as dubbed Hindi films are concerned as Ra.One and Don 2 grossed around 5 crore nett each in their entire run.
Here, they are estimating 2nd week at around 48 cr because of holiday for Muharram. They reported the collections as 46 cr but final breakdown was 42.86 cr. So, 5 cr difference. Again, their prediction was way off.

Krrish 3 grossed around 4.25 crore nett on its second Monday taking the four day second weekend total to 35.25 crore nett. The 11 day total is 157.25 crore nett.
There is a holiday for Muharram on Thursday which should give collections a boost so the week can collect around 48 crore nett. This would be the second highest second week figure of all time beating the 45 crore nett approx of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and only below the 55 crore nett of Three Idiots. The daily business of Krrish 3 in week two is as follows.
Friday – 7.50 crore
Saturday – 10.50 crore
Sunday – 13 crore
Monday – 4.25 crore
TOTAL – 35.25 crore
@DRS, dude use your brain.. It eventually became 4th highest grosser because it dropped badly in its 3 rd week by 70-75%.. Boi may not have predicted this much of drop of 75%.. So it settled as 4th biggest grosser.. Its 3rd week collection is aprox 10 crs as per boi, where as for ce it was 17 crs 3rd week, for yjhd it was 19 crs and for 3 idiots it was 30 crs.. So due to low 3rd week it ended up as 4th biggest grosser and emerged as blockbuster..

BOI is no official site. The fact that the site carries adult rated ads – itself speaks of the people running and managing that site. Just because they have uploaded some spreadsheets data of earlier movies revenue does not make them an official site. No Film faternity or government organization endorses it. That site should be banned and the folks running it should be thrown behind bars for being highly manipulative and luring cine lovers to nasty ads.

It all seems a big network of people who are trying to pull down the box office achievement of K3.
Or, it could also be possible that since these website don’t have deep network, they are unable to get the real figures, and hence to save face, they are simply blaming the Roshan’s for giving inflated figures.
Some people are commenting that how come Ramleela figures are matching with BOI and others?
Kindly note that, Ram Leela has not released on a wider scale as K3, hence the figures are easily available, because the network of the website or agents can easily access these theatres, which was not the case with K3, as it had a much wider release with theatres in the interiors that doesn’t come under the network of these websites/agents.
Hence, the figures of Ram Leela are matching, but not K3.
The media has twisted the reality to suit its own needs.
@IMAM: i think star ranking is done on the basis of opening weekend collection.. So domestic ranking of the star should be: 1. Srk/salman, 2. Salman/srk, 3. Hritik, 4. Aamir, 5. Rk.. If aamir will be having atleast one release per year then i think he can go at the top..
tax is paid on the basis of the receipts which are being submitted by the tax payers ( producer in this case) to the income tax department and not on the basis of what they claimed in front of the media..

A normal sound minded person won’t bother about the figures too much as they are above. I think it’s an effort by some group of people who are either associated with BOI or they are agents employed by most likely Shahrukh Khan, who are spreading these shits to divert the attention of people to their agenda. Guys I think we understood a lot. Lets not react to the people. Have noticed that these people are spreading the same comments again and again to all the websites that show the BO information of Krrish 3?? there is someone called “X” who is spreading his same message everywhere like someone employed him to do that. He and others like him are doing this 24 hours which don’t seem normal to me.
If they would limit their conversation to some extent, we would not understand this intention but now it’s quite clear that some sections are heavily engaged in bringing down the image of Krrish 3. I think it’s time for them to reveal their identity rather than dealing with such things. I am done now. But these people are still not tired of it. Pre Release Gross Collections (Satellite right + Music right + Advertising revenue ) which krrish3 earned around 139 cr(39cr satellite & Music right + 100 cr advertise revenue).
Post Release Gross collections – Which by wednesday was 363 cr worldwide. This is what trade site shows.
Total Gross Collections (pre release + post release ) -502 cr.
Net collections only in india ( only post release after deducting entertainment tax ) 238.50 cr.
And that’s what rakesh roshan meant by 500 cr.
And that’s difference betwern gross and net collections.

@speedo: dude, entertainment tax is not uniform in all the states.. In few states movies go tax free while in some state it is in the range of 20%.. In U.P it is 60% which is maximum.. If you consider some big grossers like ce and 3 idiots then; 1. 3idiots: gross=269 crs, net gross=202 crs, tax=269-202=67 crs, %tax=(67/269)*100=24.9%. 2.chennai express: net gross=208 crs, gross=273 crs, tax=273-208=65crs, %tax=(65/273)*100=23.8%. So for ce which released in 2013 has the net collection which is almost 77% of its gross collection.. So similarly for krrish3: let gross=X, Then 77%of X=182 crs, hence X=236.36 crs.. So for krrish3 gross=236.36 crs. which is exactly what dna is reporting.. Hope you understood.

While the nation is going gaga over Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Krrish 3? box-office collections and reports claim that it is the fastest film to enter Rs 200-crore club, trade experts beg to differ.
Quoting a trade analyst, a DNA report says that the figures quoted by Roshans have irked Salman and Shah Rukh Khan, as they feel that these figures are inflated. Roshans have been claiming that Krrish 3 is the highest domestic Bollywood grosser of all time.
However, the trade analyst alleges that these figures are gross and not net like Salman’s Ek Tha Tiger and Aamir’s 3 Idiots. The figures quoted by Roshans include what they have earned from Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions. The report further says that since only Hindi collections is considered as national, the net figure of Krrish 3 is only at Rs 183 crore.
Industry sources allege that Roshans were in a hurry to prove that Krrish 3 has broken all records, especially Salman’s Ek Tha Tiger (Rs 197.14 crore), Aamir’s 3 Idiots (Rs 202 crore), and Chennai Express (Rs 227 crore). However, the truth is that Chennai Express is still the highest grosser and also the highest opening day grosser in India.
While Rakesh Roshan is denying these allegations and maintains that the film has made Rs 237 crore in India, we have yet to get to the bottom of this. Stay tuned for more.
Boi is a joke. I monitored boi reports from day 1 for k3… They reduced numbers every 3-4 days for k3. That is cheating according to me… I completely trust rakesh Roshan..
