Right from the day Krrish 3 released in theatres, the producers of the film have been accused of ‘over-reporting’ the domestic box office collections of Krrish 3.
In a statement, producer-director Rakesh Roshan has said that most in the trade only go by assumptions and only know about 70% of the box office.
The veteran filmmaker said “Till Tuesday the all India net collection was Rs 237 crore (actuals till Tuesday Rs 236.52) while the international gross collections was Rs 54 crore. I don’t know about Krrish 3 breaking the records of Chennai Express but I know my figures and I feel elated.”
“We have put in so much of honesty and sincerity in the film. I am sure other films will break our records, but that doesn’t matter. It gives me an incentive to make better films, that’s all.”
“I’m not in a position to fudge the figures by Rs 40-50 crore. People don’t know the exact figures but I get all the figures from all over India in the morning. People just go by assumptions and know only 70% of box office while I know 100%. We opened at 4300 screens”

I really don’t know what their intentions were, but when they asked me for the figures, I willingly gave them the same. Now they say that the figure of Rs. 237.15 crores is gross and not nett.
I don’t know where this buzz about fake figures has emerged from, but I feel that there are some people who really don’t bother to go to the interiors and other sectors in a more detailed way to find out the actual numbers. I know the real figures; I have been getting updates from all my distributors, exhibitors and from places where my film is running right from the first day itself. So, I don’t really care about this line of thinking
How can I fudge Rs. 40-50 crore? Is it really that simple or is it a joke to change and pump up the collections? Besides they say that the figures I have shared are gross figures. In fact if I look at the gross figures that include the entertainment tax, and everything else, then Krrish 3’s collection has crossed Rs. 500 crores. I think they really need to go back and learn the difference between gross and nett figures first.
@indicine team : Boi are giving collections of each and every film for many years I guess therefore I think it’s quiet impossible for them not to know collections in interiors and moreover, movies like Haunted etc… releases in interiors and collect well there. If boi can able to track those movies collections then why not krrish 3 collection in interiors?.
Boi collection may not be accurate due to other factor but it can’t be like they are finding difficult to track collections in interiors therefore ur reasoning is little hard to digest.
There is hardly 2.5 crs (hindi version) difference between produce figure and boi figure on first monday.
1. If boi couldnt able to track such a huge release and each and every screens then how come just 2.5 crs difference on first monday and huge difference on other days?.
2. if they are assuming figures then how come 3 idiots, ra one and most of the earlier films matches with producers figure and most importantly they report before producer, how come that?
3. If it’s about screen size then earlier times bollywood movies release in 50 screens then its been increased to 100 screens then to 500 screens then to 1000 screens then to 2000 screens then to 3000 screens. If boi can track 3000 screens accurately and report before producer then why not 4000 screens?

This bloody cheap BOI has got a very good marketing method. They understood that if they can create controversy, they will be able to get a greater viewership which will boost their business.

Manipulating bo figures upto 50 crore and threatening analysts like girish johar and other b.o sites to publish only these started a very cheap trend in bollywood.Now big film producers will copy this and start to quote ‘so-called-record breaking’figures as shamelessly as the roshans.

if boi can collected all figure from 4300 screens in a short tym then they can distribute a medium film…. in case of krish 3 they reduce their figure after 3-4 days,even 1st week collection reduce in 2nd week…..what is this mean?they correct their figure?i dont think so….they want to show k3 collection less than yjhd…..they also reduce 2nd week nd 3rd week collection after 2-3 day…thats mean k3 collection 172 cr after 3rd weekend less than yjhd…..i think they will say that k3 lyftym is 175 cr,though they say lyftym will be 180….i m sure after some day they show less figure….they say 2nd weekend is 31 cr and 2nd week 42 cr which means weekdays are less than 3 cr…is it not fishy??

As for not crossing YJHD collections,YJHD by BOI is 178 cr while the Hindi version of K3 will end up around 180 cr! Including regional versions its gonna end at 190 cr. Kindly get your facts right haters.

The figures by boi is actual. .although k3 had hype but it released pre diwali which is considered a very dull phare for business. .even the first day business of ra.one was low despite huge promotion and presence of a huge megastar like srk. .its the true fact behind low weekend collections of k3 which dropped drastically in d evng n nyt shows during diwali. .i m following boi since a long tym. .nd its d most authentic n reliable site in india. .ppl lyk taran adarsh r dogs of producers producers who r regularly fed by some green color biscuits.

The problem is, srk has been giving lots of boxoffice duds,,, ra1 was expected to be highest grosser of all time but failed miserably,, JTHJ was also hyped so much but just turned out to be average grosser and was actually beaten by sos if we consider number of screens both had released on,,, don2 also didn’t do well,,, so he’s had only average grossers and no big hit,,, so when he finally had a huge movie In chennai express which became highest grosser, they believed the record was here to stay,,, but seeing the record badly thrashed by krrish they just cant believe it :D,,, butthurt fans trying to pull down krrish flight,, hahaha,,, do anything,,, keep on decreasing the reduced collections every 3 days but truth is that krrish3 is the biggest grosser in india :D

I think I remember seeing one article on BOI saying that Krrish 3 is likely to become the highest grossing bollywood film till date after it’s record breaking 4th day. I am struggling to find that article now but I am very much sure that boi.com did publish that article on either 4th or 5th day after Krrish 3 release. Could someone help me find that article somehow? They mentioned that particular day’s collections and at the end, mentioned this sentence very clearly. They might have probably removed this article.

@mayuersh: dude tax is paid on the basis of the receipts which are being submitted by the tax payers ( producer in this case) to the income tax department and not on the basis of what they claimed in front of the media..

If at all rakesh roshan is faking on figures….who will pay the tax for it…sharukh/salman ka baap…I dont understand why some of fools dont understand that if we claim extra profit we need to pay extra tax for it…why would rakesh claim 50 cr extra than BOI for which he have to pay extra tax…
BOI was trusted website that time till 2009 …3 idiots when there was no other proper trade site…now that other trade sites has come …there is always a difference between film collections of Ek tha tiger, Chennai express , YJHD, & Krish 3…is any one in the world who deny this…Salman started with it saying it collected 197 cr when BOI reported figure is 186…Sharukh started increasing the margin with another 20 crs , stating it collected 227 cr..when BOI reported it as 208…So the trend was started by uncle Sharukh & Salman….Krish just played with these uncle’s by adding further 50 cr (10 cr is from regional , so 40 Cr)…now baap of this uncles Amir will cm with difference of 50 cr…this is how trend will go now on…

Now coming back to collections can any trade expert tell if a movie which released on 4200 screens and had 80- 90 % occupancy earn only 15 cr in day one…if the same logic is applied to Chennai express which was released on 3800 screens and had 80-90 % occupancy earn more than 25 Crs…Can Sharukh/Salman fans have any answer to this….
Moreover ramlella released last week in 2800 screens with 70 — 80 % occupancy could collect 16 cr…more than Krish 3 …this shows how BOI is outdated and fake…
