One of the most awaited trailers of 2016 is out. Featuring Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde in the lead, Mohenjo Daro has been directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar – who has previously directed films like the Oscar nominated ‘Lagaan’, ‘Swades’ and ‘Jodhaa Akbar’.
The music has been composed by A.R. Rahman, lyrics have been penned by Javed Akhtar.
Ashutosh Gowarikar’s press statement:
“Mohenjo Daro is not just another historical; it’s pretty much even before history begins. It’s literally going back in the womb of time. It’s a world that I am most fascinated with — who were the people, how did they live, what was the society like, are some of the questions which always intrigued me. I am thankful that I got this opportunity to explore that world through cinema”
“Since this was a make believe world so when I started my research, during the initial phase, I came across Mr. Jonathan Mark Kenoyer’s books “Ancient India: Land of Mystery” and “Excavations at Mohenjo Daro”. I immediately got in touch with Mr. Kenoyer, Dept. of Anthropology, University of Wisconsin to seek his assistance. He has worked at the Mohenjo Daro excavation site for the past 35 years. To my good fortune, he agreed to participate to help me realize the true potential of the story on film. He then suggested to me other esteemed names who could give me inputs on the undeciphered Sindhu script, culture, the town planning and any and every other aspect that seems necessary. They were -R. S. Bisht, Ex-Director, ASI; Prof. Vasant Shinde Jt. Director, Puna University; Dr. P. Ajithprasad, Dept. of Archaeology and Ancient History, MSU, Baroda; K. Krishnan, Dept. of Archaeology, MSU, Baroda; and V.N.Prabhakar, Deputy Superintending Archaeologist, Aurangabad. It was wonderful that they could impart their study, analysis and knowledge to this project.”

To all those retards who just pick something or the other to hate the trailer for, AG spent 3 years with the best archeologists to research for the movie. So no retard gets to just criticise it with his Google knowledge.
As for the poor VFX, it’s just raw print. It will be surely worker on for the final theatrical product. Even Batman vs Superman’s trailer had dodgy vfx.
The rest is no doubt perfect.
Haters are saying “150 cr budget hai trailer se tou lg nai raha”….the budget of houseful 3 was 92 cr(acc to indicine)….kya tha houseful 3 me 92 cr layak?

Mohenjo Daro. A young indigo farmer, Sarman, enters the city and meets Chaani, the daughter of the Priest, predicted to be the Origin of a New Society. Sarman, in his attempt to win Chaani’s love, uncovers the secrets nobody was ever supposed to know – about Chaani, about Mohenjo Daro and about his own past!
I liked it but not loved it so waiting for the release and definitely i’ll give first priority to Rustom then Mohen Jo Daro

Ashutosh ‘s USP is how he tells the story, great actors, good costumes, great music. So he does not need extraordinary effects n all.

Not upto the mark,,,going to be a another kites for Hrithik.
I expected a lot in the trailer,thought it could match up the scale of Bahubali but all proved wrong and the trailer is average not exciting.
And it does not reminded me that this is huge budget movie.
Guyz, just because story is good doesn’t give it excuse for having the worst VFX ever…This is literally on par with Dishoom..ANd u r saying that VFX isn’t important, then u should know that the whole place is imaginary and vfx needs to be used to create it..

It is good to see that the film makers are trying to up the scale as time progresses. Bahubali, BM, MD and I am sure next one will be Shivay in that regard.
Well this trailer has definitely given a chance to Rustom team. Trailer is disappointing on the basis of expectations but average on normal viewing. Not all is lost, still content can make it huge.
Writing dialogues for a periodic movie is a tricky part and Mohenjo Daro writer has missed the trick. Dialogues of this movie is not in accordance to that period.
Hrithik fans might not like it but speech modulation problem is quite noticeable. The person who edited this trailer should have focussed on strong points, and thats what is missing. No wow factor!!!
After Spending Huge 165cr, I feel Main Drawback of MohenjoDaro are VFX, Cinematography. Movie haven’t feel or look like 5000 yr Era.
