One of the most awaited trailers of 2016 is out. Featuring Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde in the lead, Mohenjo Daro has been directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar – who has previously directed films like the Oscar nominated ‘Lagaan’, ‘Swades’ and ‘Jodhaa Akbar’.
The music has been composed by A.R. Rahman, lyrics have been penned by Javed Akhtar.
Ashutosh Gowarikar’s press statement:
“Mohenjo Daro is not just another historical; it’s pretty much even before history begins. It’s literally going back in the womb of time. It’s a world that I am most fascinated with — who were the people, how did they live, what was the society like, are some of the questions which always intrigued me. I am thankful that I got this opportunity to explore that world through cinema”
“Since this was a make believe world so when I started my research, during the initial phase, I came across Mr. Jonathan Mark Kenoyer’s books “Ancient India: Land of Mystery” and “Excavations at Mohenjo Daro”. I immediately got in touch with Mr. Kenoyer, Dept. of Anthropology, University of Wisconsin to seek his assistance. He has worked at the Mohenjo Daro excavation site for the past 35 years. To my good fortune, he agreed to participate to help me realize the true potential of the story on film. He then suggested to me other esteemed names who could give me inputs on the undeciphered Sindhu script, culture, the town planning and any and every other aspect that seems necessary. They were -R. S. Bisht, Ex-Director, ASI; Prof. Vasant Shinde Jt. Director, Puna University; Dr. P. Ajithprasad, Dept. of Archaeology and Ancient History, MSU, Baroda; K. Krishnan, Dept. of Archaeology, MSU, Baroda; and V.N.Prabhakar, Deputy Superintending Archaeologist, Aurangabad. It was wonderful that they could impart their study, analysis and knowledge to this project.”

Bit late to comment as I couldn’t watch the trailer last night and only saw it today. My opinion, the trailer is pretty good. There is nothing extraordinary shown in the trailer and obviously the makers are not fools to disclose the major highlights of the movie in the first trailer itself although we can see glimpses of what can be expected. This trailer was designed to project the protagonist Sarman played by Hrithik and an idea about how his journey is going to be and the various obstacles he is going to face during his journey and the trailer has succeeded in that.
The cinematography looks awesome and the VFX (from whatever shown in the trailer) looks polished. Last but not the least the BGM by ARR is fantastic and you can feel the intensity of the BGM growing as the trailer advances and the perfect finish. Hrithik looks class and I am sure this is going to be one of the best ever roles in his career…..August 12th… Bring it onnn!!!
Hritik sir’s voice is not suitable for warrior role.he is a brilliant actor far better then srk and my favorite salman and one of the best dancer in Bollywood industry but problem is his voice it’s like a kid voice. Film shoot in very large scale but dilauge is not that good which attracts towards movie hope movie will be good I am waiting since 1 year for both sultan and mohenjo daro Hritik is only actor who can destroy Khan’s

Even trailer seemed so long thinking wen ll it b over den how ld b d film I mean how long and boring and Hrithik once again luks doing overacting.
I was concerned about rustom bt now nt at all.if rustom can get big initial den dis movie ll even struggle to get cross 100 crore.
Ashutosh gowraiker is an overrated director. People say he’s d director of lagaan swades and jodha akbar bt dey forget he’s s also d director of Abhishek Bachchan deepika padukone movie not sure abt name was disaster and wats ur rashee.

mohenjo daro trailer is nothing what would u call spectacular.. it is decent at best.. story looks too cliche.. I think it is the story quotient that has me disappointed.. though as an audience I will definitely give it a go at the theatres.. not have much expectations from it now watching the trailer.. hope it surprises me! but something is not convincing about Mohenjo-Daro.. it just didn’t click n excite me

Loved the trailer. Game me goose bumps and made me watch it 10 times. Only God knows how many more times i will watch this epic trailer. Hrithik is my second favorite after Megastar AAMIR Khan. Dangal and MD will be biggest blockbusters and grossers of the year.

I would say that I was disappointed at first time because I wasn’t watching the trailer…. I was only comparing it with Bahubali. Then I watched it again and this time, I was excited.
I observed that we can’t compare a trailer with a whole movie. Bahubali was a fiction and all things were exaggerated to add grandeur and epicness. Bahubali wasn’t a historical film, actually IT WAS A SUPERHERO MOVIE where MD is all about an advance city in prehistoric era and how a man starts a revolution to save the city and his lady love. In the end, we will learn that no city is important than the people who made that city special.
In between we will witness about the real scale, architecture and feel of that era.
Trailer is good but I feel movie will be better than it.

It may have some impact on Youtube, though, like during Happy New Year, when SRK unveiled it on Facebook, which affected its Youtube views. It’s still on pace to cross 2 million views within 24 hours. Incredible.
