One of the most awaited trailers of 2016 is out. Featuring Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde in the lead, Mohenjo Daro has been directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar – who has previously directed films like the Oscar nominated ‘Lagaan’, ‘Swades’ and ‘Jodhaa Akbar’.
The music has been composed by A.R. Rahman, lyrics have been penned by Javed Akhtar.
Ashutosh Gowarikar’s press statement:
“Mohenjo Daro is not just another historical; it’s pretty much even before history begins. It’s literally going back in the womb of time. It’s a world that I am most fascinated with — who were the people, how did they live, what was the society like, are some of the questions which always intrigued me. I am thankful that I got this opportunity to explore that world through cinema”
“Since this was a make believe world so when I started my research, during the initial phase, I came across Mr. Jonathan Mark Kenoyer’s books “Ancient India: Land of Mystery” and “Excavations at Mohenjo Daro”. I immediately got in touch with Mr. Kenoyer, Dept. of Anthropology, University of Wisconsin to seek his assistance. He has worked at the Mohenjo Daro excavation site for the past 35 years. To my good fortune, he agreed to participate to help me realize the true potential of the story on film. He then suggested to me other esteemed names who could give me inputs on the undeciphered Sindhu script, culture, the town planning and any and every other aspect that seems necessary. They were -R. S. Bisht, Ex-Director, ASI; Prof. Vasant Shinde Jt. Director, Puna University; Dr. P. Ajithprasad, Dept. of Archaeology and Ancient History, MSU, Baroda; K. Krishnan, Dept. of Archaeology, MSU, Baroda; and V.N.Prabhakar, Deputy Superintending Archaeologist, Aurangabad. It was wonderful that they could impart their study, analysis and knowledge to this project.”
For the first time watch … there was a bit of disappointment for the trailer….BUT that was due to the huge expectations and comparisons with Baahubali in mind. And due to the fact that HR is returning after 2 years.
But after the 2nd ..3rd watch the trailer seems to be BANG ON . HR will nail the movie.
And to the people who are saying that visuals and VFX are not that great…one has to keep in mind that we have seen BAAHUBALI the movie… and then we could judge the VFX and visuals.
This is just the trailer and UTV has probably kept the best for the movie instead of showing everything in the trailer.
To me MD trailer is a winner. If the content will click this will break records left right and center

The people who are disappointed are either HR haters or are comparing it with Baahubali . They should get one thing in their mind that Bahubali was a fantasy movie while Mohenjodaro is a historic movie , the city of Mohenjodaro was real . You cant expect war sequences like Bahubali or HR to climb mountains like Krrish .

I saw the trailer of Mohenjo Daro yesterday on TV . The idea to release the trailer on TV was a terrific idea by AGPPL and UTV Motion Pictures as most of the people in India do not have access to Internet . The trailer is brilliant but not exceptional . The opening background score sounds terrific . Hrithik is looking dashing as Sarman . Kabir Bedi has a amazing voice and is looking solid as an Evil King . Pooja Hegde is looking beautiful but I wanted to hear her voice . The sets are looking grand but the only major problem is the length of the trailer which is 3.30 Mins . Mohenjo Daro does not has any War Sequences but there will be some terrific sequences with Crocodiles and the combat sequences . 500 comments on Indicine, 30 Million Views on Star Gold and Trending on YouTube and Twitter it has made an impact it was expected . Some people had unreal expectations from the trailer but it is nice to see people comparing with Baahubali . After repeat viewing the trailer looks even better . It will be grand experience and such movies are only meant to be seen in theatres . Nice to see the support from all the neutral audience and I hope MD roars both in terms of content as well as box office .

the point of concern is that scale n production values looks mediocre.. the sets looks fake.. the vfx n other technical aspects lacks finish n polish.. it does not seem at all like Mohenjo-Daro era.. they have failed miserably to create an environment of Mohenjo-Daro era.. the second biggest disappointment is the story.. same routine cliche bollywood love story.. more than the production values m more disappointed with the story.. I was hoping for some historical trivia not a routine Bollywood Iove story set in wanna be Mohenjo-Daro era.. the bottom line is it neither has the grandeur nor it has a story.. this will struggle to find audience apart from hrithik fans.. I have a feeling critically it will be thrashed too

Flaws Of Baahubali…
1) How can a lady flow in water for long time with same hand position lifting baby. (oops no logic found)
2) Mountain Climbing scenes were so laughable.. Many will agree with me. (Must be spirit of Baahubali helped him)
3) Tatoos on Tammana and prabhas body… Painting under water(seriously??)
4) Snowstorm sequence was poorly shown(oops no one is complaining)
5) One small rock saves baahubali and another man from falling ( when bhallaldev leave rope to kill baahubali.)
6) that cutter of Bhallaldeva used in War as well as that Gada spring lol.. …
All these factors make movie childish and illogical according to so called intellectuals but still movie worked and did huge business bcz of Directors vision was great… He believed in product, he shiwn some over the top scenes but that got neglected in thw the end bcz of greatly shot war scenes… So
In the same manner Mohenjo Daro director has a vision in his mind abt Indus valley Civilization world and he simply set his story there… For gid sake he is not making Documentary on Mohenjodaro or Super hero movie full of CGI and VFx…
He simply want to show story of Revenge drama with action and romance with Indus vally as a backdrop.
So please Respect his vision, wait till movie release, go watch movie after great reviews and witness story of a Man set in Mohenjo Daro Era.

okayish trailer for me but still i watched it more than 20 times bcoz of hrithik and a r rahman bgm …
yesterday i watched Game of thrones latest episode which was one of the best episodes of that series featured hell of a war scene ….and right after that i watched Mohenjo Daro trailer for which i waited so long …and i must say it was a pretty bad idea …being a die hard fan of Hrithik i felt shattered …forget baahubali i started comparing it with hollywood standard forgetting everything about the budget and technology they have …..
.but today, then i watched again and now i feel relieved kinda as i started liking the trailer ….it was not exceptional not outstanding but yes it was pretty good …
