The first indication that Veer may not go the Wanted way, was when the collections first dipped on Saturday and later dropped quite significantly on Monday. Republic day (Tuesday) business helped the film get close to the first week numbers of Wanted, but the huge crash on Friday (Week 2) and further drops on Saturday and Sunday has meant that the film is highly unlikely to attain HIT status.
The fact that the distributors share is high from single screens has ensured the “moderate success” tag for the film, but business overall has been well below expectations.

- The costs of Veer is much higher, hence the film needs much more for hit status.
- The lifetime nett of Veer is likely to fold up under 45 crores, with a distributors share of around 25 – 26 crores.

i dont understand one thing,salman has got more fans than anybody else in india..still many of them doesnt watch his movie on the big screen,that’s weird..anyway..i am glad that veer is doing good even after gettin bad reviews from everywhere,that’s the power of Salman Khan..i am a true die hard fan but was hugely disappointed by veer..the movie is weird..but still i wanted it to emerge as a success just for Salman..i wish Salman gets his audiences back in multiplexes..and all his movies become hit like Aamir,i loved london dreams,still it flopped..that’s pathetic…let’s hope Dabanng becomes a blockbuster whenever it releases..it’s high time now..salman surely deserves a filmfare..As for veer,it’ll reach a minimum of 50 cr.

Salman to give his remuneration from Veer
Salman Khan is thoroughly disappointed because though the producers of the film Veer are maintaining that the film has done well at Box Office the truth is other way round. Film has not been just rehjected by the multiplex audience but also failed at the single screens, where the filmmakers were hoping some money would be recovered. Salman before the release of the film said he would hold himself responsible if the film fails. Keeping his words Salman has not only taken full responsibility of the failure upon himself in fact waived off Rs 15 crores, the remuneration that he was supposed to take from producer of the movie Vijay Galani. A source said, “Vijay Galani is slated to lose around Rs 25-30 crores, due to this disaster. Salman Khan, who was to be paid Rs 25 crores as the remuneration for the film was given Rs 10 crores as the signing amount. But now Salman has decided on not to take remaining RS. 15 crores. Well, expectedly Veer got what it deserved, sorry to any Salman Khan fans who dreamt of “Big blockbuster” and “Top grossing film”.
Will not comment on My Name Is Khan, except that i think its collections (at least in India) will be hit by the IPL comments made by SRK (which by the ,as a secular and educated Indian, im in full support of SRK, Shiv Sena are the sort of groups that are destroying India) In fact, i dont think My Name is Khan will even release on 12th february.
@Amit Singhania, where had you read that My name is Khan pre-release reports? I reckon its still a bit early for all of that. I read that MNIK got an excellent repsonse by sheikhs of UAE, it made them cry apparently, this is about the only pre-release indications i have managed to find, where have you read that they are disastrous?????
