The Next Bollywood Superstar – Do we have a succession plan?

In Indian cricket, the question that was asked for years was ‘who would replace the Big 3 (Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and VVS Laxman). In a few years from now, Bollywood too could find themselves in a situation, where there could be a lack of ‘bankable stars’. Well known trade analyst and film critic Joginder Tuteja questions if Bollywood has a ‘succession plan’ in place. Rahul Dravid just made a gracious exit from Indian cricket. VVS Laxman didn’t take much time to hang up his boots either. And suddenly there seems to be this huge question in Indian cricket – ‘Do we have a succession plan?’

May not get time for SOTY premiere – Karan Johar

Filmmaker Karan Johar reveals that he wanted to hold a grand premiere for “Student of The Year” but promotional commitments prevent him from doing so. “Student of The Year” marks the debut of Varun Dhawan, director David Dhawan’s son; model Siddharth Malhotra and Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan’s daugher Alia. “I would like to present them, I wish we had the schedule and time. I wanted to hold a grand premiere and officially introduce them (the new actors) to the movie industry. But our marketing plans are so extensive, city visits, international travel,” the 40-year-old said in an interview. 

Dabangg 2 Lucknow and Kanpur shoot begins next week

Arbaaz Khan Productions has reportedly got permission to film the Salman Khan-starrer action-comedy ‘Dabangg 2’ in the state capital. Major scenes will be shot in Lucknow and Kanpur from next week. According to sources in the state government, Arbaaz Khan Productions sought the green signal from the government to “commence shooting in the beautiful city”. A letter to this effect has also reached the Film Bandhu, a government body set up to oversee film development in the state. The five-day shooting would be conducted, “if all security and administrative issues are settled”, between Sep 9 and 14, a source said.

Dabangg 2 postponed, Talaash to release for Christmas?

More rumours.. this time it’s a biggie! A source close to Salman Khan’s Dabangg 2 unit says, the film could be postponed to March 2013. While the news is yet to be officially confirmed, it does make a lot of sense. Prior to EID, director Arbaaz Khan had said “Dabangg 2 is almost 60 percent complete, we resume shoot after the promotion and release of Ek Tha Tiger”.
