You can’t fool the market by giving out inflated figures: Aamir Khan

After Shahid Kapoor (read article), Aamir Khan has hit out at actors in the industry who give out inflated box office numbers. During a promotional campaign of his upcoming film PK, Aamir said “Its childish. I think that for some reason various people in the film industry feel that by inflating their figures they would convince people.”

Action Jackson has opened to below-average response at the box office on Friday. Considering the budget, director and star-cast of the film, the opening at multiplexes in big cities was very poor. At mass centres, the morning shows were decent, but much lower than trade expectations.

Ungli Box Office Opening

Ungli has opened to a poor response at the box office on Friday. The occupancy for the morning shows was around 15-20%, which has picked up slightly for the noon shows. At places, the opening was lower than the other release ‘Zid’ which has taken a fairly good start at smaller centres.

In a bold statement to the media, actor Shahid Kapoor has slammed the superstars and producers of the industry for fudging box office collections of their films. Shahid went on to say that one of the benefits of being a producer is to fudge collections of their own films, something that Salman doesn’t need to do because his films do so well at the box office.

After a poor first weekend, Kill Dill has failed to sustain at the box office. The film has collected Rs 25.5 crore in 5 days and should finish its first week with net box office collections of around 30 crore.
