Dharma Productions’ Ungli has held up well on its first weekday at the box office, although it would make little or no difference to the final outcome. Like Happy Ending the previous week, Ungli too failed on its opening day itself.
The film was delayed by almost 2 years, wasn’t promoted well enough and there was hardly any pre-release buzz.
The release of Ungli ends a disastrous month of November, that looked promising at the beginning of the month with films like ‘The Shaukeens’ (Akshay, makers of OMG! Oh My God), Kill Dil (YRF, Ranveer and Parineet), Happy Ending (Saif returning to romcoms) and Ungli (Emraan working with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions).
Ungli will finish with lifetime business of around 21-22 crore.

Feeling bad but i don’t think emraan fans should worry.

etd- it was with debut director. Script during climax went wrong which ruined it.
Ghanchakkar- it was the best scripts but editing was bad.
Natwar- poor startegy.trailer b4 1 month. Poorly marketed by utv.
Ungli — probably the worst shaped emraan movie. 2 years delay, kjo ruining the movie. Cameo role.
Emraan work was applauded n praised by critics n audience in all these movies.
Don’t worry emraan . U will be back with mr.X 3d. Multiplex will praise u for tigers!

Then he did not promote movie much. Bcoz he knew it will be another yljk,marygold,rang rasiya!
He did not reveal anyone that emraan doing guest appearance.

public remembers wat national media lets them remember and according to national media all these abv mentioned films r hit so I kindly request u to call these films as hits in ur future articles.I think u took bo verdicts from boi which is nt followed by media and aam admi so such horrible verdicts for these films.u r doing a great job for films released post 2010 but verdicts of lot of old films r wrong bcz u took the verdicts from boi.so plz correct the mistakes

But indicine has not given 11 hits to imran hasmi sir! I know counting collction of old n small budget movie like zeher,aksar is hard. But they hit with national media n official figure.

Watched it yesterday!
It’s watchable,but I feel it could have been much better with a better screeplay,direction and removal of some necessary scenes.
Some times I felt like I was watching a regular masala entertainer. The performances were not upto the mark either. I loved the performance by Sanjay Dutt followed by Randeep Hooda. Kangana has been wasted in the movie. Emraan’s character should have been given some more timing as well as importance.
What I loved were the scenes between the members of ungli gang and a few comic parts.
A generous 2.5/5 stars from me.

I watched two movies this month viz Happy Ending and Ungli. I feel both movies were neither for the single screen audience(as they are not for mass) nor for the multiplex audience.

@ultron. Dude its other way around. People who went to mental asylum after watching kick are throwing temper tantrums and so the theatre owners are hesitant in screening. So that’s WY less collections.
Its bound to happen,Emran non performance out of bhatt camp,Delayed film,not a single chatbuster song,kjo didn’t promoted film.These are basic reason for this film failures.
Emraan has been a successful actor as he delieverd hits consistently but from last 4-5 years, he only able to get success with franchise film like raaz3,murder 2,jannat 2, and films where he was second lead like ouatim,tdp etc.Problem with him that family audience staying away from his films,his films work most due to his kissing and intimate scenes with new heroines,popular music and reasonable stories.But when he tried put of confirt zone like Shanghai,awarapan,ungli etc all failed as his fan following has in smaller center more and they can’t see these films.My advise Emraan you are good in your serial kisser image inside bhatt camp and will definitely back to success soon.Stop your arrogance.
