Most successful Bollywood Actors: 2010 – 2015

Following up on yesterday’s ‘Most Successful Actors between 2000 and 2009‘, we have the list of actors that were most successful in the current decade. 2016 releases haven’t been included while calculating the figures because a lot of big stars like Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, Varun Dhawan and Ranveer Singh haven’t had a release so far this year.

The analysis does have quite a few surprises! Read on..

Success Ratio i.e Above Average or better  (probably the most important, because it’s the percentage of films that recovered investment)

  • Shah Rukh Khan - 100%
  • Varun Dhawan – 100%
  • Salman Khan – 90%
  • Aamir Khan – 75%
  • Hrithik Roshan – 67%

  • Ajay Devgn – 39%
  • Emraan Hashmi - 36%
  • Akshay Kumar – 33%
  • Shahid Kapoor – 20%

Blockbuster Ratio (this was worth pointing out, simply because the difference between actors is huge!)

  • Salman Khan – 70%
  • Aamir Khan – 50%
  • Ranbir Kapoor – 25%
  • Hrithik Roshan – 17%
  • Shah Rukh Khan – 14%
  • Emraan Hashmi – 14%
  • Ajay Devgn – 11%
  • Akshay Kumar – 5%

In conclusion, it’s quite clear that the decade so far has belonged to Salman Khan. Veer had to be included in the list because it released after 2010 and that hurt his success ratio. Apart from that, Jai Ho missed out on a ‘hit’ verdict. Those two films aside, he hasn’t put a foot wrong. Salman has a 70% blockbuster ratio i.e 7 out of his 10 films were blockbusters or better. This record, in itself, is better than every other stat that we’ve mentioned and we had to include it simply because no other actor has probably achieved it before. It’s hard to describe how huge it is, because his blockbuster count is almost the same as all other actors combined! His 10 films have also collected about 200 crore more than Akshay Kumar’s 21 films!

Shah Rukh Khan is the biggest surprise here. Between 2010 and 2015, he hasn’t had a film that has been completely rejected. No film has failed to cross the 200 crore worldwide mark either (of course, Fan hasn’t, but that film was this year). He and Varun Dhawan are the only actors with a 100% success ratio. Shah Rukh’s hit ratio is the highest too, not too bad for a man who’s supposedly going through a career low?! It’ll be interesting to see how the next 5 years pan out for him.

Aamir Khan missed out with Dhobi Ghat and Talaash, but hit the ball out of the park with Dhoom 3 and PK. He does very few films, but those few have worked big. Ajay Devgn’s box office performance was much improved as compared to the previous decade, quite a few of his films have done well.

Hrithik has been consistent, good success ratio, great average per film.. Kites and Guzaarish were his big failures. He needs to up the ante a bit and do more films.

Akshay Kumar tops the ‘number of films’ list once again, he’s easily been the most prolific. His average, which was in the mid-70s until the end of 2015, has also improved with his two releases in 2016. His choice of films is making a difference at the ticket window.

The younger stars like Varun, Arjun, Sidharth, Ranbir and Ranveer have had great starts to their career. Their success ratio is very high compared to the first few years of actors who made their debuts in the 90s. It shows that they take each of their films very seriously. Special mention for Varun, he’s been terrific. The very fact that a film like ‘Dilwale’ has been his biggest box office disappointment, says a lot about his career so far. ‘Dishoom’ will be a test.

Emraan hasn’t had a bad decade, he was doing well in the beginning, but has faltered in the last 3-4 years. Shahid has been very poor, way too many failures against his name.

  • Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are mini film industries themselves. None can deny that. #Facts

  • out of 7 srk movies 4 are hits don 2,jthj,CE,hny…so hit ratio is (4/7)*100=57%..lol are you drunk indicine or you’re biased towards srk or mathematics rules changed or your calculator not working properly ??

  • @Indicine
    Salman Blockbuster’s since 2010 = 10
    all mentioned above = 7
You said almost equal, how?if it 9 or 10 of all others then your Justified.
====>>Biased Site.Don’t have the guts to accept reality. What will you do in real life Bcoz this is not Life,Life is beyond all this.

  • mnik,ra one, dilwale are hits tell me dear indicine..then Jai Ho,Veer were also huge hits..So Salman has 100% success and hit ratio…correct the article

  • Tiger- the real king – 16 July 2015- 10:03 pm- “2015 is the worst year for Bollywood lovers because behuda things like Fan and raees teasers are seen by them.”

  • Salman aamir fans., just wait for one good film of srk to get a good word of mouth and u will see who the king is

  • @Anand-The original , u should feel shame to bash a guy who was poor, lost his father at 15, worked in hotel and tv series , lost his mother, took responsibilty of sister. Studied, slept in street and made big sans any industry relation

  • by the way Sid is nt a solo star..
he should not be here in list..he
had only 1 solo release.. his success will
always depend on rom-com gener and
    alia/shradha/other actress

Dilwale should not b included in varun’s list
his rejected movies can’t collect 150cr with
    clash with a biggie ..

salman has super success record from 2010-2015.
8 blockbuster from 10.. I think he will give 5/6 blockbusters more in this decade ..

srk has 100% hit ratio that’s very good but he gave
only 1 blockbuster from 2010-2016.his domestic collection is not good but worldwide collection is excellent..let’s see what he offers next

both Hrthik and amir did less movies.one comes with
better script and another comes with big bugdet

  • Though I feel had films like boss , ouatimd , TMK and brothers worked big time then he would have been on top…
These films failure has hurt his market image and current standing a lot..
(Especially ouatimd and TMK which were expected to break box office records)

  • Ajay upcomings Shivaay and Badshaaho will be great.
I see alot of butthurt fans,Salman Khan’s record is here to stay and Sultan will add to his greatness of 10 back to back 100cr film.

  • “Salman has a 70% blockbuster ratio i.e 7 out of his 10 films were blockbusters or better. The paragraph makes everything Doodh ka doodh aur paani ka paani!!!

  • Even in his best phase Aamir is behind KING KHAN.

Listen u 2Rs Aamir and ur fans. You are nothing in front of King Baadshah of Bollywood.

  • Lol people call ajay superstar.he is a gud actor like manoj nawazudin irfaan bt nt a superstar
    Salman sucess ratio is 100%
U shud hav included 2016 which would put akshay up n srk down due to fan
Varun n sid started in 2012 so u shud hav exluded them

  • Aamir is just an avg actor who has good script sense.
    He was horrible in dhoom3,expressionless.

He was pathetic in talaash. The role required some serious intense acting which SRK would have nailed. He was mostly expressionless.

Srk can act through eyes,he can nail intense roles.
Talking about negative characters,Aamir stands nowhere in front of KING Baadshah Khan.

  • Watch SRK’s swag in Don 2 and compare that with constipated expression Chotu khan was giving in Dhoom 3.
    Hahahaha

As I said Aamir = Average actor.

    Only his films r good.

    Znmd,Krrish 3 and agneepath.

Bong bong and Jadoo Akbar were semi hits.

Hahaha,he’s far too behind in the race now.Even Arjun Kapoor,Varun and Ranveer have more hits than him. Lmao

  • Ohhh.Yes
    Surprisingly U did it….
    Finally They PRAISED Salman
    Thz Broos…..I mean THz @INDICINE
    Happy happy happy…..

  • Let’s make a brief comparison between Bhai & srk’s whole career and see who is more successful Box office!

    HGOTY:
    Bhai- 9.
    Srk- only 5.
    Bhai>>>>>>srk.

    HGOTD:
    Bhai- 2.
    Srk- ZERO (LOL)
    Bhai>>>>>>srk.

    ATBB:
    Bhai- 4.
    Srk- 2
    Bhai>>>>>>srk.

    Blockbuster+:
    Bhai- 12.
    Srk- only 8
    Bhai>>>>>>srk

    300cr grosser:
    Bhai- Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
Srk- yet to touch even 230cr mark.
    Bhai>>>>>>srk.

    200cr+ grossers:
    Bhai- 3.
    Srk- 2.

    Srk- 1.
    Bhai>>>>srk.

Top 3 highest grosser of the year:
    Bhai- 1999
    Srk- never.
    Bhai>>>>srk.

Bhai never failed to surpass 100cr mark since he has joined the club. But srk failed big time with Fan.

Srk has been struggling for a HGOTY since 9 years. Bhai has never seen such ” BUREY DIN “.

Also his lion’s share of hits are yrf-dhama products. While Bhai always works with newcomer directors/heroines and unknown banners.

Bhai is miles ahead of him in each and every department…!!!

  • After Dishoom Varun will lose 100% success Ratio

SRK already LOST 100% ratio in this DECADE [ fan DEBACLE ]

  • Veer ( Feb 15 released ) : Flop
Jai Ho ( Jan 26 Released ) : Semi Hit
Hence proved, Salman is nothing without EDX. Even his fans will agree.
    Most Insecure Actor
