Over the last 4 months or so, we have been working hard on upgrading the user interface of Indicine. The goal was to make the design simpler, faster and compatible with every device (Mobile phones, iPad/Tablet, Laptops and Desktop PC’s) , while also adding more features and making different sections easier to access.
The most requested feature was to make the website more colourful (images, videos etc), but the major downside to including a lot of images is that the site gets slower, especially for those who browse Indicine using a 2G internet connection. We were also keen on ensuring that we do not waste bandwidth (data) of our readers, so a lot of time has been spent on optimising the website including all the images.
With the new design, we have tried to strike that perfect balance and we are pretty pleased with the new design. The main page has more images, loads quickly and doesn’t consume too much data.
Also, the main page has tons of new features. The left section of the page has latest article updates, while the right section has links to almost every possible box office data that we currently have in our database. In the next couple of days, a few pages of overseas collections from various countries will be added too.

And finally, we hope you like the new improvements to Indicine. It might take a few days of ‘getting used to’ the new design, but over time, we hope most of you like the new changes.

but there is too much white out there.
since this is a bollywood site, you need to mix up some bright colours.
too much white and grey makes it a bit dull and more like a blog or news website.

New version looks great! Especially, the option to reply anyone directly is something I wanted in it from a long time.
The background is little bit too shiny though, a little darker background color would be even better IMO, don’t take it as a criticism, the new version is surely an upgrade to previous one :) All the best!

I agree with Rohit and Nipun. The interface in new update is terrific, but I miss the dark background of the older version.
Dear indicine team, congratulation. I every time use 3G mobile only. I’m disappointed only one thing that one is REPLY BACK COMMENTS because if some body reply back to me, how can i know?
Example, my comment is page one and you reply to me page one but i currently page three visit then how can i know? Please do something for comments section.Thanks
Personally speaking I prefered the old site- I was shocked this morning when I cane onto your site after 24 hrs and I saw Sunny Leone getting freaky with some guy- I thought I had stumbled across nipuns desktop background – first article I saw n that was there- I use my iphone to access your site so I found the old site perfect n easier to navigate… Too early to say what I feel about the site as I need to go to different links n open up more articles n use the ‘indicine’ homepage link to see if changes are better but all the best.

if u guyz remember i suggested you the same. have asection named people”s index n there u can place grosses of all the actors actresses n even directors producers.
I take my hat off to the new design – it’s very much easier and faster but not good on the eye because it lacks background color.
I’d suggest that you make the website colorful like the previous versions and that will make it the site especially the comments section more ‘visible’.
Overall, a very positive step!

Old version was better in my opinion.
@indicine could you do a comparison between the plots of and Screenplay of Bang Bang and Kick? Both those films have huge similarities.
Indicine is the best addiction somebody could have.Love your modified version.My only concern is that the reader’s comments are published after much delay.If you come up with a solution to that problem it would be great

Well, first of all, the logo of ‘indicine’ is nicely designed & unique, it is eye-catching for sure! And one thing is for more sure, this logo couldn’t have been created by Red chillies VFX team, Only a creative team can do it and so no way it could have been the lal mirchi vfx team , lol just kidding :D
The reply option is a welcome add-on and was much needed, right now the site looks some what plain & simple but neat & well-organised, so after the few promised changes from the indicine team we expect the site to look more appealing, colorfully pleasing & Entertaining. Want more relevant updates and as latest as possible, i have seen few sites updating more faster than indicine. Didn’t know that this site is actually based in US and one more thing indicine, after total up-gradation what about the already registered old users, do they have to re-register again on the newer version or will the already registered user Ids get carried forward from older to newer version like how it is happening now?
