It’s going to be yet another mega-clash at the box office this year. After Shah Rukh Khan vs Hrithik Roshan during the Republic Day weekend, it’ll be SRK vs Akshay Kumar during the much-bigger Independence Day weekend.
Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha, a medium budget film directed by Shree Narayan Singh, will take on Shah Rukh Khan’s untitled biggie directed by Imtiaz Ali.
Shah Rukh was earlier involved in yet another box-office battle when the makers of Raees averted the clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan and announced their film on on the Republic Day weekend – which was taken by Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil.
The Independence Day weekend will see yet another big-clash at the box office. The circumstances are very similar too – Rustom was the smaller film like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, while Mohenjo Daro was a big-budget film much like the untitled film featuring SRK and Anushka.
The trailers of both films will be out in June.
Eid and Christmas are much bigger and better release period compared to Indipendence day. And according to their fans Eid and Christmas ensure 300cr nett minimum. I can’t understand WTH one of them releases his movie on Eid/Xmas to deliver 300cr grossers???

Even critical acclaimed Kaabil was under performed because of clash with SRK’s average movie. You never know TEPK will be as good as Kaabil. Moreover, Kaabil was more commercial movie than TEPK. So, how can TEPK makers decided to clash with biggie one. These days, everyone is underestimated SRK, you know the the capabilities of both Imtiaz (JAB WE MET) & SRK, they can make/ has potential to make outstanding movie. If things turn into as i claimed then TEPK has no chance to survive even for day one.

this superstars are crack who are clashing with one another but allowing a young hero to release a solo film on sep 29 which is also a best date. how judwa 2 getting solo date is mystery. today only Aamir/Salman can get festive solo that, no other can. Salman is enjoying two biggest dates eid xmas in 2017 while srk,akki,hr clashing for single holiday.

I fear Toilet – Ek Prem Katha may open similar to Kaabil..If Jolly LLB 2 couldn’t manage a big opening, then how can this film open well that too against a shahrukh khan starrer..we all know the track record of SRK in clashes..and akshay Kumar’s track record too..i feel srk next will be his yet another 20 crore non holiday opener whereas toilet might struggle for double digits. Rustom caused a major upset last year by beating mohenjadaro but when it comes to clashes, Hrithik roshan is no Shahrukh khan..all the best to team toilet
