SRK vs Akshay Kumar: Toilet Ek Prem Katha moves to 11 Aug 2017

It’s going to be yet another mega-clash at the box office this year. After Shah Rukh Khan vs Hrithik Roshan during the Republic Day weekend, it’ll be SRK vs Akshay Kumar during the much-bigger Independence Day weekend.

Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha, a medium budget film directed by Shree Narayan Singh, will take on Shah Rukh Khan’s untitled biggie directed by Imtiaz Ali.

Shah Rukh was earlier involved in yet another box-office battle when the makers of Raees averted the clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan and announced their film on on the Republic Day weekend – which was taken by Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil.

The Independence Day weekend will see yet another big-clash at the box office. The circumstances are very similar too – Rustom was the smaller film like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, while Mohenjo Daro was a big-budget film much like the untitled film featuring SRK and Anushka.

The trailers of both films will be out in June.

Abey jhandu, Salman easily delivers 500cr/600cr worldwide grossers but your rice smuggler yet to touch even 400cr mark worldwide. Now tell us who is local star and who is the worldwide star… Hahaha.

Yes Bhai had lost couple of clashes in past. But he never runs away from any clash unlike your galaxy ka sabse bada gigastar…. LMAO!

  • indicine , in your Q&A session this Sunday you mentioned that Shahrukh Khan is the most recognized indian actor in the world..even though it doesn’t reflect in box office collections. And you gave an example of Amitabh Bachchan saying that his films dont open well but he is still the biggest star. Are both of these sentences not ludicrous? Firstly if Shahrukh is best known indian actor, then why doesnt it reflect or why shouldnt it reflect in box office collections? How else do we know who is the biggest star? Who has counted the 3.2 billion fans that Shahrukh supposedly has? I know that Salman has 4.5 billion fans in the world..but i dont have data to prove it..so how can anyone believe it? The only definite way to determine stardom is by number of tickets sold..isnt it? Secondly, how can we compare Shahrukh with Amitabh? Its a lame example…Amitabh is 70+ years old playing supporting characters n past his prime 30 years back whereas Shahrukh is still playing lead roles n selling the movies on his name. How can their box office openings be compared? Lets be more objective in determining the biggest n best known indian actor in the world – as they say, words may lie…numbers don’t !!

Akshay is eyeing for I-DAY , republic day weekends because films like jolly , tepk , Padman are not made for festivals …!!
For that u need universal films and he rightly has a biggie 2.0 for Diwali …!!!
I have said this thing long ago akki won’t be releasing any of his his films on festivals in near future (except 2.0 , kjo-sk project) when that @Anandi the lukkhi unnecessarily poked his nose in one of my comment long back ..!! No more arguments on this..!!
    Just like
    Jai ho 108 (non festival)
The same jai ho 175-200 on an EDX …!!!

If u think eid is a small date then let me remind u more than 60% of sultan’s overseas collections came from Pak and gulf..!!!

  • @deadpool

if Eid is such a big date WTH your Akki is not releasing his movies on Eid? Doesn’t he want his movies to become blockbusters or collect 300cr?

Hahaha…. Still barking on Jai Ho collections! FYI, megastar Akki yet to touch the same Jai Ho’s opening day and weekend collections (even on national holiday)….. Ab bol munna….
