It’s going to be yet another mega-clash at the box office this year. After Shah Rukh Khan vs Hrithik Roshan during the Republic Day weekend, it’ll be SRK vs Akshay Kumar during the much-bigger Independence Day weekend.
Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha, a medium budget film directed by Shree Narayan Singh, will take on Shah Rukh Khan’s untitled biggie directed by Imtiaz Ali.
Shah Rukh was earlier involved in yet another box-office battle when the makers of Raees averted the clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan and announced their film on on the Republic Day weekend – which was taken by Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil.
The Independence Day weekend will see yet another big-clash at the box office. The circumstances are very similar too – Rustom was the smaller film like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, while Mohenjo Daro was a big-budget film much like the untitled film featuring SRK and Anushka.
The trailers of both films will be out in June.

Akshay kumar should not clash with srk even if he is enjoying bedt time in his career with 4 consecutive hits.. caouse toilet ek prem katha is not an universal film and it will affect both the films due to clash
Sad that SRK still can’t have a solo release after beating Kaabil but this will put an end to all those idiots who think Akshay can take the 3rd spot. In his best phase, solo releases, he still isn’t able to cross 130 cr. Srk in a clash, dull period, and so called bad phase, Raees did 135 cr. Period.
well the smaller film always benefits from clashes, more so during holidays/festive season……….lots of publicity and eyeballs!!!
Have always believed that Bajirao Mastani would not have collected as much as it ended up collecting if it hadn’t released during Christmas period inspite of a clash with a much bigger film Dilwale!

Which brings us back to the debate of the Christmas 2017 clash. If I were Hirani or VVC, I would seriouly consider taking Tiger on this December!!!

a producer came to know the opposition recreating an older song(situational it was) so even they tried to recreate an old popular hit (it has nothing do to with storyline)
they even paid a popular critic to spread negativity about other film…
paid popular pages like RVCJ & bollywoodlife to spread negativity of other film..
SRK on Eid said they’re planning to release on 25 so even the other producers released their film on the said that….and then manipulation
by official their film is highest grosser of the year so far (kaabil-136 last updated and Raees-129 last updated by producers)
I’m sure Akki is much better…he has nothing to do actually as he’s not the producer…so bring it onn and play fair…
and well this actor-producer combo is not the only who play dirty tho…have a look at one more actor
in 2006 his film was about to release he thought how to get more publicity and then he targeted biggest bolly actor of that time saying “how it feels to be no 2 SRK”….unfortunately he got successful and got enough fame..
again in 2007 when his film was about to release and again he used his dirty tactics and targeted the same person to get free publicity by saying
“SRK is my dog’s name, he’s licking my feet”
and then Aamir Era started gaining..so same thing happened in 2008 where he bashed SRK and was even going his film hair cut to RNBDJ goers…
coz 26/11 attack RNBDJ didn’t release in Pak but his film released and his last year he said “he was in shock for 3 months after 26/11 attack”….really ??? then who was celebrating the success of your film back in 2008-09 then…

akki will win the clash tepk is low budget! while on other hand srk will struggle to give yet another hit i personally think srk should movie from clash and get a solo date for himself! akki is already in top form he’s content movies work longer…

the buzz was already there coz of clash with MD…
and that could be a reason as well for clashing toilet with SRK’s next…producers know it very well…
toilet will always be in news coz of clash and is a small budget film with Good concept so it’ll work…but no chance an akki starrer will open bigger than an SRK starrer…he’s SRK not hrithik ;)

may give TAX FREE status to Toilet-ek prem katha which is going to be a huge factor.
A huge state like Uttar pradesh and many bjp ruling states can boost the collection to a great extent. Also TEPK is a medium budget movie.So, definitely it is lot more riskier for IMTIAZ-SRK.And no one can deny the fact that imtiaz’s movies and his audiences are restricted.

Good move tbh! I was always worried about the release date of TEPK- ramzan period, 3 weeks before Eid and a minor disadvantage as reports say Raabta is shaped out brilliantly. August is a very good time for release and it’s a big enough weekend to accommodate both films. But again SRK will miss his much needed 250/300 cr grosser.
Rehnuma is being shot in foreign so Toilet has a more desi feel to it and the theme suits the patriotic day, if Toilet clicks with both multiplex and single screen audience(hope it isn’t an offbeat film) then it can be a rage.
I also want Padman not to release in December 2017. Hope they shifted it to January 2018. Republic Day weekend if possible.

Again ,very smart move by extremely talented neeraj pandey. He knows the fact that film’s title is dull but audience will come for akshay sir anyway and now taking I-DAY as date slot it will boost to pre release eagerness. Neeraj sir ne akshay sir ko top par pahuchane ki kasam khai hain.
