It’s going to be yet another mega-clash at the box office this year. After Shah Rukh Khan vs Hrithik Roshan during the Republic Day weekend, it’ll be SRK vs Akshay Kumar during the much-bigger Independence Day weekend.
Akshay Kumar’s Toilet Ek Prem Katha, a medium budget film directed by Shree Narayan Singh, will take on Shah Rukh Khan’s untitled biggie directed by Imtiaz Ali.
Shah Rukh was earlier involved in yet another box-office battle when the makers of Raees averted the clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan and announced their film on on the Republic Day weekend – which was taken by Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil.
The Independence Day weekend will see yet another big-clash at the box office. The circumstances are very similar too – Rustom was the smaller film like Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, while Mohenjo Daro was a big-budget film much like the untitled film featuring SRK and Anushka.
The trailers of both films will be out in June.

He is the star with probbaly the most clashes but comes out on top every time irrespective of content…
The clashes include big victories against rivals Aamir Khan in 1995 (Ram Jaane v Akele Hum Akele Tum) and Salman Khan (Don v Jaan-E-Mann). In 2015 the Dilwale v Bajirao Mastani clash is seen as a defeat but if the wider picture is seen with Worldwide numbers its a comfortable victory for Dilwale and this was only due to the clout of Shahrukh Khan as the film was not liked. Even in India it would have been much closer if the intolerance debate did not happen at time of release which cost the film around 15% business. Shahrukh Khan has probably defeated every other major star out there in a clash…

Nothing much to see here. Akshay was the first to announce his film Crack on this date, now since Crack is delayed they’re releasing TEPK. Much better date than what it was previously with lots of holidays to back it up, patriotic elements will help too.

MJD was a very risky project(Though the genre was very hot after Bahubali n Bajirao Mastani).After the realease of trailor n after movie realeased it has no chance to survive.
SRKs next on the other hand is much more safe as star power of SRK will make sure that it gets an initial n after it is all about WOM.so at the moment it is in favour of SRk’s next
Keeping budget in control is key… tamasha was imiyaz ali movie. It was gud movie with limited appeal still collected gud amount.
But unnecessary shooting in exotic locations n all made it too heavy to recover. I think in 2017 we dnt get excited wen they show us tall bulilding in newyork… instead rural dangal appeals more.
The more SRK fans pray Salman films face clashes, the more SRK films face clashes instead.
