The official release date of Shahrukh Khan’s much-awaited ‘Dilwale’ has been announced. Like ‘Dhoom 3’ and ‘PK’, two films that set all-time records at the box office, ‘Dilwale’ will release a week before Christmas on 18th December 2015.
The makers are currently shooting for the film in Bulgaria, after which they are expected to shoot some under-water sequences in Mauritius.

The final release date of ‘Dilwale’ sets up a clash with two other films that are also scheduled to release on the same day – Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ starring Ranveer Singh – Deepika Padukone and Feroz Nadiadwala’s ‘Hera Pheri 3’.
The situation is similar to last year, when ‘Bombay Velvet’, ‘Welcome Back’ and ‘PK’ were all announced for Christmas, but common sense prevailed and the biggest film ‘PK’ eventually got a solo-release.
While there are reports that ‘Hera Pheri 3’ is likely to be postponed, the cast of ‘Bajirao Mastani’ have reconfirmed that their film will release on 18th December.

i was sure that dilwale will release one week before christmas bcas their main aim is the life time collection. As i feel that hny 1st day and single day record will not get broken these year. But if there is no release on the 25th dec than the second weekend collection will be huge. But i have a feeling that some movie will release in the christmas weekend as nobody will want to miss this oppurtunity of the christmas weekend.
bm should target either new year weekend or republic day. Directly clashing with dilwale will be a huge loss for slb. It can release on christmas weekend but it want get many screen as rs films are high on entertainment and people will prefer it. Best of luck for both the director for their movie.

@sht hahaha pk failed to beat pre eid release kick, when the opening day no was only below than d3 when it comes to non holiday, other thing was the trailer which wasn’t mass appealing in any way, yes Raju and Aamir comes after 3 I but that doesn’t mean it will open huge, srk and aadi came after ddlj with mohabbatein and guess what Hrithik-Sanjay mission Kashmir weekend was more than srk-big b mohabbatein.Other thing if pk would release on 25 DEC than it would definitely tumbled the d3 opening day but hny was tough because of genre, in 2011 srk Don 2 release on 23rd DEC but its opening was similar to srk ra1 which first day was diwali day because don 2 not had much takers in single screens like ra1. Aamir postponed pk from jun to DEC to make pk as big as 3i success, and to release on 19th DEC it self was the decision that they have huge trust on content, no doubt pk was most awaited film last year but when the trailer launched we got to know that opening like d3 or CE not possible.
You are taking event films Aamir’s all big films from Mangal pandey,ghajini,fanaa,3i and d3 broken weekend records of all time, d3 gone step ahead as it broken the weekend record of CE which has full holidays with normal week. If srk is so big than why paheli,cdi opened poor atleaset srk-yrf combo CdI should be record breaking.
Regarding Aamir to have 4 all time grossers in last 4 holiday release it self give how big he uses holidays, srk had 17th holiday release and dilwale will be his 6th consecutive release and still srk had only one all time grossrer, Aamif had 6 holiday releases, 5 atbbs among them, 4 all time grosser as Raja Hindustani was a diwali release in 1996. Now you will see how big dangal will be, if its trailer will appeal all sections.

@sky u are ignorant. Kick 26 cr on pre Eid and pk 25.67 cr (actual according to Boi) normal day release. And regarding mohbbate and mission Kashmir, format released less no if screen compare to MK but accupency was more and there are many example like that because those days only action movies used to huge no of prints. Even josh released more print. In Mumbai mohbbate accupency was 100% (1st week) and MK 91% but collections were higher for MK because prints were more. And yashraj were confident about long run. Not only this there are many example raja Hindustani accupency (98%) while ghatak had (91%) but later one had more collection because of more print. But now days thing has changed. Pk released huge no of print plus huge hike in ticket price should have cross 30 cr though never asked 45 or 35 cr. for ur information don2 had then record opening on non holiday. And yes mangal panday broke opening weekend record no doubt but between mp and fanaa srk had no released in betn neither hritik had so obvious first rdb, then fanaa broke earlier record. Then krish and later kank and d2 broke earlier records. Even don2 with competition crush both fanaa and rdb records. And yes past few years Amir have utilized holiday very well but again he was lucky because his good trending movies didn’t get hampered by other flow of release unlike RNBDJ and ce which were cruising toward huge grossers.

SLB is not stupid producer to release his big budget movie against multistarrer movie, where lead actor is one of the three megasuperstars. Those who are saying SRK is copying Aamir’s strategy. That’s the biggest joke. Aamir learned the importance of talking to media and marketing his movies from SRK back in 2007. He used to hide in his own cave and didn’t even know how to talk to people. SRK taught him why its important to go out there and promote your movies otherwise he would have no fans.
To all the other haters just start thinking of excuses to make once Dilwale breaks records. Things like “SRK needs Rohit. SRK needs Kajol. SRK needs a multistarrer etc.”
