In an interview with Hindustan Times, Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan has said that the preference given to ‘festive releases’ is stupid and uninteresting.
While his last non-festive release was ‘My Name Is Khan’ way back in 2010, Khan says “when I release a film, that should be a festival”.
Some excerpts from his interview:
No, it’s (Diwali) not my slot. As a matter of fact, I’ve stopped releasing films on festivals. I always tell everyone, ‘When I release a film, that should be a festival’.
Eid mein namaz padthe hai, Diwali mein puja karte hai (we read Namaz during Eid and do puja during Diwali). Now, it’s become all about releasing a film on a date. It’s stupid and uninteresting.
(I would) release a film the day it’s completed. Whoever wants to come, come, whoever doesn’t want to come, don’t come.

Salman has done 41 movies in full fledged or significant roles in his first 14 years. Of them, 22 are commercial successes and 19 failures. So, his success rate is almost 54%.

Meanwhike, kiddo Roshan did 19 films in his 14-year-old career. Of them, 10 are commercial and 9 failures. His success rate is 53%.

Yet, most of latest successful films are multi starrer like Dhoop 2, Jaado Na Milega Dobara, Agonypath, Jaadoo 3 (in which Kaal performed better than Jaadoo Boy did). Of his 10 successful films, 4 of them are with his papa. That shows what he is.
Nipin Bete, when a man works hard, he sweats and gets more injuries and at the same time, more benefits. When a man works, he sweats less, less injuries and less benefits as well. The former is Salman Khan. He has more hits, super hits, BBs, ATBBs, and at same time, more flops in terms of numbers. The latter is Papa’s Boy Roshan. He has less hits, BBs and flops in terms of numbers.

Shah Rukh with his entire star cast will be unveiling the song in a week’s time

Agneepath collection sud be compared wid jai ho as both come in same period. ZNMD,KITES sud be compared with veer,london dreams etc as they are non-holiday release.

1- Angry Path was a remake of Amit Jis cult classic Agneepath so it had a stranglehold over the Bollywood audience unlike Jai Ho which was a remake of a southern movie called Stalin which not many in Bollywood would have seen…!
2- Angry Path got a Republic Holiday release unlike Jai Ho for which Republic Day was a Sunday so no major advantage there…!
3- Jai Ho was entangled with controversy- Salmans own making but it upset his fans at the time so affected ticket sales- Angry Path faced no such troubled waters…!
