Update on MNIK’s Mumbai release.
SRK’s My Name Is Khan, which has opened to a fantastic response all over the country, has now opened across all multiplexes in Mumbai according to NDTV, a popular television news channels.
The Shiv Sena threat, which helped create enough hype – not to mention free publicity across all television channels, seems to have only worked in favor of the Karan Johar directed film.
With Rave reviews and positive word-of-mouth, MNIK is expected to shatter box-office records over the weekend.

I think MNIK has earnt 8 crore or 10 crore,all are fake. none of the movie has a tremendous opening. its only srk who faced the shiv sena.shive sena also failed to stop srk , this proves that srk is a real king.

The first day box office returns were adversely affected by the Shiv Sena ACTIVITIES THAT CLOSED MANY CINEMAS AND MULTISCREENS….so three idiots’ throne at the top is rather shaky, as we would be never certain if they would have been dethroned, had the Shiv Sena unholy activities not occured.
Its an excellent openning after all these threats and many of multiplexes closed. Srk has won the bettle.
He shows he is the real king who can give great opening even in this situation. I hope the collections are going to improve day by day as mostly multiplexes are open now.
At overseas it is breaking all records. Becuasue srk is the king of the world. It was expected .

I live here in Scotland. On friday….only like 10 people were seeing the movie my friend went to see it and I went to see valentine’s day. She came out really sad and she is a die hard fan of SRK. Just came from cineworld, still poor turn out. For an SRK film…..poor turn out, I am really disappointed.
I for one will not watch it, its £7.50 here in cineworld and word of mouth is negative so I am just going to chill out and see how this goes. Mind u, FOX has invested a lot of money in this so MNIK has to make some real good money to b declared a hit and I do not see that happening.
It had the potential to do very well on the first day: enuff publicity excellent reviews but word of mouth is not helping at all. Big mistake as it did not open all over India…..ppl have started watching it online.
Good luck to him but can we wait and see what the film will bo at BO…before tagging it a blockbuster?
No the collection is 7.92 crore net, 8 is estimation but BOI have put the figures up again, its really poor considering its widest release, even if the pune and some theatres in mumbai release then it wud of just added 2 extre cr net considering they sold the film to fox for 90 crores. the 1st day collection is same as veer and DDD.
No great chemistry btwn SRK-Kajol that was xpcted,the script
fails completely,All the other characters were missed out compltely-nothing intersting about them at all,
and how many movies about the 9/11 episode common guys just sick of it.

today (Sunday) special screening od MNIK who were suppose to visits guest like CM of maharashtra, sharukh, gauri and some other political parties has been cancelled due to bomb blast in Pune German Bakery and its also confirmed taht in pune most of the multiplex will be close for security reason just to avoid groupism of public as it is valentine day
so today therer will not be huge collection for MNIK
overall MNIk will be below avg
guys BOI has already told that it has lost 1.5cr from maharastra only not more and it has released on 35 multiplexes of 63.
11 single screens they are registering poor collections and will throw out hte movie in second week
Looks like sharukh khan promoted his movie so well n it was his chaal. Even when he was caught in america for my name is khan…who knows he was caught for carrying no passport:P:P or carrying soemthing in his pocket or no porper document as he forgot soem purposely at home, and he made a huge furore saying, they caught me coz my name is khan.
I think this movie is boring. What if some small actor had said anything and shiv sena had gone against him,would people support that mall fray with this solidarity. Just coz a guy is popular media sit with their ass facing him.

I think SHA rooh ka kaan is very clever guy. He knows how to get publicity, he knew thi movie won’t be liked by people so he did this. He purposely didnot apologise coz he was enjoying the free publicity.
WHen I watched th e promos i knew the movie would be boring and wo’t be liked so shar ruk khan tried things to get the people in th ehall nad we like fools walked with tiranga… one comment was good..why he did not show solidarity when shiv sena was against north indians……that time where was he? Hey guys, Saturday collections of MNIK are out….It iis close to 9.2 crores. according to a trade analyst,it is a fairly nice collections keeping in mind the saturday blasts in Pune. Night shows everywhere were dull.. Expecting a good sunday of around 9-10 crores. After that its all about the public word of mouth. God Knows wat is going to happen to this film.

honestly speaking, I like srk acting skill , i watched mnik in first day in australia. Movie is good if u like to watch same srk masala rona dhona, the actor face trouble from start till end he needs the sympathy of audience , if u want to be senti – U r welcome to watch movie otherways just watch in dvd don’t waste ur movie in cinemahall. It doesn’t mean by its a bad movie but same srk-karan formula, Now audience doesn’t want same masala repeted. And this movie doesn’t stand on it’s title” My name is Khan” The title should be “The man with trouble”. Just the acting skill is good, Story line is repeated, script all right. The pair doesn’t compliment each other like dwdlj. The scene in the movie is totally fictious and doesn’t make sence.
