Happy New Year has dropped by around 10 – 20% at centres that we tracked today. Rajasthan circuit collected Rs 79 lakhs on Monday, which has gone down to Rs 64 lakhs on Tuesday.
A few centres have remained steady with 10% drops, but others have witnessed bigger falls. East Punjab is down, Gujarat is helping Mumbai circuit remain steady, in the Mysore circuit cracks began to appear as early as Sunday, business in West Bengal circuit is steady but on the lower side.
Overall, the film should collect around 13 crore on Tuesday as per early estimates. All India total of Rs 137 crore in 5 days is excellent, but the trend hasn’t been good.
Second weekend could well decide if the film will eventually cross the 200 crore at the box office. There are no releases in the next couple of weeks – Rekha’s Super Nani releases this weekend, but that film won’t impact Happy New Year.
The SRK starrer will collect around 160 crore in its first week, out of which the contribution from the Hindi version will be around 154 crore.

They first target JTHJ to under report it’s collection but at that no one cared and boi didn’t succeeded in that

In that case they got the support from Salman and aamir fan for under reporting JTHJ

Come on guys.. Let’s give some credit to srk. Almost 2.5 decades he has been winning hearts of audience not only in India but worldwide! I stay in Africa(Nigeria) am so into Hindi movies. Wats d point comparing his collection with other superstars?? He crossed 100crores 5times just like ajay devgn plus he has more awards than even amithabh. I personally don’t like happy new year I actually stopped watching it wen it was on 1hr24mins! Let’s just wish all of them good luck cos ask yourself all d top 6 current mega stars in Bollywood. AAMIR SRK SALMAN AJAY HRITIK AKKI. have all put smiles on our face…greatest irony is LOOK AT THEIR AGES AND CONSISTENCY!! Forget about records records cos d real truth is that their movies will always b in our hearts courtesy of their hardworking and ability to please their fans for so long!!! I never claimed SRK is the only doing ORIGINAL movies. NEVER!
SRK has stayed away from South Indian remakes (Ramanna) etc. Even Aamir has done south indian remake (Ghajini)
SRK has always asked for ORIGINAL script so far. Don 2 was a sequal to Don-2006. not Don-1978. Much of the story is changed in Don-2006 mind you. & btw, DON-2006 was not a BB or ATBB or even super-hit. It was only a HIT. It did not trended well at all.
Aamir did REMAKE of GHAJANI. It was already a Tamil ATBB.
Problem with SRK is simple one. He is working with Garbage directors. Even Farhan Akhtar is not a good director. Many SRK friend circles like Anubhav Sinha, Farah Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Rohit Shetty are not quality filmmakers. They are just poor film makers.
Even Saif Ali Khan has worked with good action film maker like SRI RAM RAGHAVAN twice!
When SRK worked with quality director like SHIMIT AMIN, he gave BB in CDI.

Prob with SRK is that he has never looked beyond YRF, Karan Johar, Farah Khan..
There are directors like Vishal Bharadwaj, Raju Hirani, Imtiaz Ali, Neeraj Pandey, Kabir Khan, Bejoy Nambiar etc who want to work with him..but he has rejected their scripts..for eg Munnabhai and 3 Idiots..
The reason behind this being that..whenever he has worked with quality directors..his movies have flopped..eg Swades(one of the best movies), Paheli, Asoka..so maybe he wants to play safe..
Also I didn’t add Shimit Amin or Maneesh Sharma as he did/is doing movies with them as they are from YRF..also he is working with Rahul Dholakia for Raees as it’s a Farhan Akhtar production..
Someday I want to see SRK work with new director, new heroine non YRF/DP/RCE movie!! If that happens..that would be interesting..

@khan : Srk was first to start South Remakes… Remember Billu before that Paheli ?? Just coz it flopped he stopped working on remakes had these movies were successful I am sure Srk wud have done more Remakes that Akshay & Salman !!!!!!!!!!!!
