Happy New Year has collected around 15 crore on its 4th day at the domestic box office, as per early estimates. The film has witnessed falls across central and north India. Mumbai, Rajasthan, West Bengal circuit have held up reasonably well. The Tamil and Telugu versions have dropped by nearly 70% from Sunday. The average all India drop for the centres that we tracked is around 50-55% from Sunday.
The multiplexes are doing well, but the single-screen business has taken bigger than expected falls both on Saturday, Sunday and now on Monday.
In comparison, Bang Bang collected Rs 15.21 on its first Monday, Chennai Express collected Rs 12.62 crore and Kick managed to collect Rs 14.41 crore. Dhoom 3 leads by a distance with net first weekday collections of Rs 21.71 crore.
Looking at the trends, the 283 crore record of Dhoom 3 (highest grosser of all time) is out of reach now. It still has a chance to be the highest grosser of the year (Kick 233 cr), but for that the film has to sustain well over the remaining 3 weekdays and then escalate this coming weekend.
In the recent past, quite a few films have shown bigger drops on Tuesday and Wednesday, so the coming two days will be important if Happy New Year has to eventually cross the 200 crore mark.

Now nearly confirm that happy new year will not cross kicks collection. No expectations from such a pathetic movie. During ce rohit shetty and holidays factor was worked. But this time holidays get ended ,srk have a no guts like salman and aamir to collects 200cr+ without holidays ..

Had it not been diwali break even a hit tag would have not been acheivable for such stupid film. And also Indicine, I hope that this trend of collection is also an eye opener for you, as your review for this film stinks. 4stars, are you serious.
@indicine we were previously assumed that in case of every movies till date of before HNY realised you and other site too published a particular day collection on next day after 10:30 am in morning even sometimes you update that still not recive all circuit collection still tuned we post collection in noon . but in case of HNY you and other are like superheroes you all are update collection in night even not wait for end of the night show why???? everybody in hurry????

We are all Indian why are you always fight for these Actors Srk,SK,Ak,HR,Rk etc. Pls Pls dont fight for all these actors they are not giving you even a single penny still you are wasting your hundreds of rupees on theirs movies and fighting with others without any reason and you are becoming enemies.

The Monday figure is in the same range as Chennai Express last year and Kick this year but the trend is not good as those films as they were not coming of such a start as Happy New Year especially Kick which started with 25 crore nett opening due to pre Eid.
