Happy New Year has collected around 15 crore on its 4th day at the domestic box office, as per early estimates. The film has witnessed falls across central and north India. Mumbai, Rajasthan, West Bengal circuit have held up reasonably well. The Tamil and Telugu versions have dropped by nearly 70% from Sunday. The average all India drop for the centres that we tracked is around 50-55% from Sunday.
The multiplexes are doing well, but the single-screen business has taken bigger than expected falls both on Saturday, Sunday and now on Monday.
In comparison, Bang Bang collected Rs 15.21 on its first Monday, Chennai Express collected Rs 12.62 crore and Kick managed to collect Rs 14.41 crore. Dhoom 3 leads by a distance with net first weekday collections of Rs 21.71 crore.
Looking at the trends, the 283 crore record of Dhoom 3 (highest grosser of all time) is out of reach now. It still has a chance to be the highest grosser of the year (Kick 233 cr), but for that the film has to sustain well over the remaining 3 weekdays and then escalate this coming weekend.
In the recent past, quite a few films have shown bigger drops on Tuesday and Wednesday, so the coming two days will be important if Happy New Year has to eventually cross the 200 crore mark.

Happy New Year will finish up between the range of 165cr to 170cr as it crashes heavily on weekdays forget about getting past 170cr as the movie is not upto the mark. Farah Khans best movie was Om Shanti Om. Finally Happy New Year will scrape through the boxoffice.
Happy New Year will finish up with 160cr and it will become average at the boxoffice because of its low content. Its a big letdown and a disappointment film for all the audiences. Farah Khan and Shah rukhs best film was Om Shanti Om followed by Main Hoon Na. Happy New Year is a big disappointing film.
I predicted to it be around 15 or 16 crore. So i think HNY passed the first test. Now tomorrow is also important which should again be around 16 crore. I m sure with this trend it can reach near to 250 crores inshallah.

According to boi 1st weekend collectho of hny is 99.91cr for all versions not 103.5 cr. 97.02 crore for hindi and 2.89 cr for telugu+tamil version. Please check the trade fig. Of hny and then say who manipulating..

@optimus : Do you even know when ETT was released ??? Independence but in Ramzaan. It got huge opening but due to Ramzaan the collection were less n still did good on Eid day. Ask srk to release a movie in Ramzaan & give Blockbuster. Salman already gave 2 BB releasing during this period !!!!!!!!!!
