It was on this day, exactly a month ago, that Shah Rukh Khan’s Dilwale released in theatres. The film took an excellent opening at the box office, collecting Rs 21 crore net on its first day and sustained well enough to cross the 65 crore mark in its first weekend.
It was after the first weekend that the momentum shifted to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani, which was the first choice for the multiplex audience during the Christmas / New Year holiday weekend.
Dilwale finishes will domestic lifetime business of around Rs 148-149 crore, which will be a little lower than the 4th highest grosser of 2015 – Tanu Weds Manu Returns. Dilwale is Shah Rukh Khan’s 3rd highest grosser after Chennai Express and Happy New Year.
In the overseas markets, Dilwale has crossed the Rs 160 crore, joining My Name Is Khan to become one of the few films to collect more overseas.
The worldwide gross of the film stands at Rs 375 crore, which is comparable to what a solo film like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo collected during the Diwali weekend.

Khamoshi,salam e ishq ,baabul are hits overseas but no salman fan needs to mention them because we salmaniacs have 28 uncontroversial hits in india .i doubt srk will ever achieve this record.no matter what the trade sites call i will never accept ra.one, mnik and devdas as clean hits .
This crap mediocre movie doing so well in overseas proved that overseas audiesnve is in fact much dumber than Indian audience. Indian audience have ay least started rejecting such crap movies now and dilwale being a flop in India proved so that Indian audience are much better and mature than overseas audience which are mostly NRIs. So an under performer of SRK matches up the collections of a superhit Salman movie on a world wide basis plus Dilwale was also competing with Starwars and BM both. That is quite an achievement. SRK should continue his hold on overseas if Fan and Raees prove to be content rich movies.

Regarding overseas collection they are never matter for me, reason Dilwale has collected 25 million$+ in overseas, what are the footfalls, not more than 30-40lac at max.
Now look at prdp footfalls of 2.2crore in domestic with Dilwale 1.45cr, there is gap of 75 lacs. Even you count overseas the gap is still 35-40 lac remain minimum. Prdp overseas footfalls whatever are is bonus. Now Indicine line that srk dilwale matches to prdp worldwide figure is not more than a joke for me. If a films perform well in overseas than its only bonus, money comes in huge amount because of exchange rate but on that basis we can’t consider them to equivalent to a film who performed way better than the other film in domestic market. Media and trade are just giving sympathy to srk & his fans but end of the day Ra1,don2,hny & Dilwale is nothing more than a debacle for srk because the most important Indian market they underperformed. Get the thing in your mind.
