Chennai Express has collected Rs 10.48 crore in its third weekend, with fantastic collections on Saturday and Sunday. The third Friday collections was more than doubled on Sunday!
The Rohit Shetty action-comedy went past 3 Idiots on Friday and has now also crossed the 210 crore mark. The film will also benefit from the Krishna Janmashtami holiday on Wednesday and is likely to finish with lifetime business of 220 – 225 crore net, giving it a distributors share of around 130-132 crore!
Chennai Express is likely to be the highest worldwide grosser in the history of Indian Cinema (once again beating 3 Idiots) and could be the first film to collect Rs 400 crore worldwide.

- 3rd Friday – 2.12 crore
- 3rd Saturday – 3.61 crore (70% growth)

Chennai Express grossed around 9.50 crore nett in its third weeeknd giving it a total gross of 194 crore nett approx and making it the second highest grosser of all time.
There is a holiday for Janmashtami on Wednesday which should take it to the 200 crore nett mark at the end of its third week. The film should then cross the 3 Idiots record nett gross in its fourth week and finish at around 205 crore nett approx.
The film became the record nett grosser in CP Berar over the weekend adding to the number one spot it had already achieved in Nizam/Andhra, Mysore, Tamil Nadu/Kerala and Orissa. The other circuits where it is looking to make the top spot over the next week or so are West Bengal, Bihar and Assam.

It looks more genuine to me and as per them ce collection after 2nd week is 194 crs, and 3rd weekend collection is 9.96 crs. So total upto 3rd weekend is 204 crs approx. And most importantly they have the teritorial breakdown of each days. Even they have the record of how many persons have watched the movie during a certain period and also in which cinema. These days i am finding it a much better site.
@Hritik. Whatever srk has given flop in 22 years, masala khan has broken it within 3 years. To find out srks flop u have gone back to 1995 Hahaha. And paheli swades oh darling etc were offbeat movies. The bottom line is Khans rule but there is no denying Srk has been more consistent compare 2 other khans.
