Chennai Express has collected Rs 10.48 crore in its third weekend, with fantastic collections on Saturday and Sunday. The third Friday collections was more than doubled on Sunday!
The Rohit Shetty action-comedy went past 3 Idiots on Friday and has now also crossed the 210 crore mark. The film will also benefit from the Krishna Janmashtami holiday on Wednesday and is likely to finish with lifetime business of 220 – 225 crore net, giving it a distributors share of around 130-132 crore!
Chennai Express is likely to be the highest worldwide grosser in the history of Indian Cinema (once again beating 3 Idiots) and could be the first film to collect Rs 400 crore worldwide.

- 3rd Friday – 2.12 crore
- 3rd Saturday – 3.61 crore (70% growth)

simply amazing figures. tsunami express even after putting record figures in its initial run is still continuing on its amazing run. doubt whether any movie apart from this would gross more than 400 CRORES. that’s the real challenge.

Now this shows kind of supremacy these Khans have over Indian Cinema. These Khans were hit 20 years back as well as now. The way they have been consistent is actually awesome and I wish continue to do so for another 10 years. Our Indian Film industry has been growing very well and now able to collect so much money which we used to only dream about. Every year new benchmarks are set up in industry which is good for its growth. God bless Indian Film Industry which continues to entertain us in past, now and forever. :) :)

2.lootera:it is my all time fav movie after 3 idiots and veer zara.i cried for half an hour after watching it though i always hate crying.end was very moving.this can be sent to oscar.

@CERocks : Dont fly too much coz the more you go up the more pain you will have when either AK or SK break these records. No doubt about srk capability but CE success credits cannot be given solely to him. EID + Deepika (her market value have rise since cocktailn YJHD) + Rohit Shetty + manipulated screen played a role too. We are not crying unlike srk fans who used to call same masala genre movies are craps, mindless and what n all. and Now srk have made records through the same Masala movie and suddenly it is the much loved genre by all srk fan. Double standards cheapos !!!!!!! Where was srk stardom during Ra.one (Diwali solo release + most widely Don 2 release (solo on Christmas) ?
