Buddha Hoga Tera Baap is the other release this weekend and the Amitabh Bachchan starrer brings back memories of the Bachchan era back in the 70s and 80s. Amitabh Bachan has made some of the greatest films in Hindi cinema. He is a very versatile actor as evidenced by his performace in Sarkar, Cheeni Kum, Bunty aur Bubbli, Sholay, Zanjeer, and now this new venture with his flamboyant portrayal in Buddah. I do not understand how SRK is considered more talented than Amitabh Bachan – this just shows that fans look for show and not substance

Some body said AB is the shahensha of bollywood. But why b’coz he done most number of flop film? Or 40 years carrier in bollywood? When we called some body shahensha (in bollywood) for successfull carrier it’s Dilip kumar (old) and new genaretation it’s Amir khan (more than 60% hit) . Before some one react plz cheaque A.B Carrier (it’s only 20%+ hit) include he done some b-grade movie (like boom and many). He only popular b’coz it’s bollywood not hollywood. Other wise his carrier was finished very early.

By the way for those of you who dont know who BIGB ( my response above) let me tell you something about him (by the way I never found anyone whose career started like that in Indian film industry) and after reading this tell me a single actor i n the history of Indian cinema who can be even compared with BIGB:
BIGB started his film career at the age of 56 in 1997 as a SOLO hero (without riding on any multistarrer cast and well established big banners and directors) with duds like Mrityudata and Laal badssha and was labelled a flop hero…David dhawan exploited his bihari act by casting him in Bade Miyaan chhote miyaan and movie got average success…..BIGB then started playing central supporting roles in MAJOR SAAB (with hit song Sona Sona),Hindustan ki kasam etcc……But then KBC, a show that totally changed the career of this flop actor and made the darling of massess wioth all age groups…..Something was there in the personality and talent of BIGB that people just couldnt get enough of it..Some thought that even they can get popular by hosting similar programs and hence people like Govinda (who was big name that time) started jeeto chpappar faad ke and others (on zeetv) but no one came close to BIGB as thsoe shows were flop…….
Exploiting this BIGB started getting better roles in form of Mohabbatein, Ek Rishta,KKKG, AKS,etc (with few hicupps like Boom) playing central characters……Continuing this he explored various genres and played diverse characters with ease in movies like BAHGHBAAN, KHAKEE, AKS, KAANTE, BUNTY AUR BUBLY, SARKAR, WAQT, AANKHEIN, VIRUDHH , BLACK , KANK,BHOOTNAATH, SARKAR RAAJ, PAA, ALADIN, NISHABD, EkLAYA etc.. Some were successful and some not..Also his vidoe songs like KABHI NAHI (with adnaan) , KAJRA RE (buntyn bubli), MAIN YAHAAN and CHALI CHALI (Baghbaan) were immensely popular and had a huge craze
He created history by winning both Popular and critics award in Filmfare… 65 year old actor winning popular’s award (beating rest of the nominations including srk n salman) was something never happened before…In 2005 he was the highest paid celebrity beating all other stars and maximum revenue was generated in bollywood through his movies….In 2007 he did a bold attempt by doing SOLO romantic role in CHEENI KUM and NISHABD which never happened in the history of Indian cinema..One was success ful but the other was not….He also had his share of disasters and flops too but then it was bound to happen if he really wanted to explore variouis genres and challenge himself as an acor..In 2008 he leads the biggest show ever overseas by indian artists knwon as UNFORGETTABLE which was huge success
Today he ranks 3rd in terms of his brand price (after amir and srk) as far as advertisement is concerned……..He has almost 9 lakh followers on twitter (more than aamir and salman)…His movies BHTBaap is doing well as SOLO and also people are waiting for AARAKSHAN and KBC5…….He is the only STAR-ACTOR today who has worked with one particular camp of directors/producesr… Be it RGV, R BALKI, RAJKUMAR SANTOSHI, PRAKASH JHAA, VIDHU CHOPRA, RAKESH MEHRA, SHAAD ALI, KARAN JOHAR, CHOPRAS, Sanjaygupta, RITUPARNO SHOSH, VIPUL SHAH, or even PURI JAGANNATH , he has experimented a lot with different types of directors and roles…….No other actor in today’s generation has worked with all leading directors of today

Amitabh started his career as a short roles as one of the seven characters in Saat Hindustani and with his second film Anand he got his first filmfare establishing himself a good actor pitted against great Rajesh Khanna…….He gave great performances in movies like Reshma aur Shera (playing dumb), Parwana, followed with some flops …in 1973 he again gave two great performances in NAMAK HARAAM (one of his great performances) and ABHIMAAN……In the same year Zanjeer happenned and the rest is history…..
Also Mr Roy, Amitabh should be the last person to be even thought of as media manipulator..Amitabh and media boycotted eachother for 17 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!……And that too when he was at his peak days of stardom……….Yes if you are talking of today’s stars like SRK then yes he is one of the biggest manipulators of media…..
