Bang Bang Friday (Day 2) Box Office Collections

Bang Bang continued its good run on its second day at the domestic box office with net collections of Rs 24.08 cr on Friday. The film has held up well in most parts of the country with drops in the range of 10-20% on Day 2.

Friday was a holiday in a few states for Dusshera, while Saturday will be a holiday in other parts. All three days, including the opening day (Gandhi Jayanti), were not pan-India national holidays like Independence Day.

Bang Bang has now collected Rs 51.62 crore in 2 days and could cross the 100 crore mark on Sunday if business picks up. Monday is also a holiday in some parts of India for Bakri-eid.

  • Thursday - 27.54 cr
  • Friday - 24.08 cr
  • Total – 51.62 cr

  • Ummn… isn’t this a $180cr movie (incl promotional expenses). At this rate it will take almost a week to just recover the cost!

  • Agree with the indicine answer to babaji
These collections are too good for the no of screens and that’s too with clash to a critically acclaimed big banner movie
And I sure that occupancies for the first two is bigger than any movie except dhoom3

  • Proof for its best opening is
    KERLA AND PAKISTAN
Where it got decent no of screenings
And it smashed the opening records by a huge margins which will not be easy to break
Even dhoom 3 is no way near in these areas

  • OMG the new Jaadoo fan babaji makes a crappy request to Indicine to restore his belief in Jaado Roshans boxoffice prowess n why 30cr barrier wasnt breached and our Indicine come back with a grovelling gut wrenching explanation saying other films too would have struggled against another biggie like Haider….

First thing first- Haider isnt a biggie- I havent seen it but I hear its not a film for the masses just maybe classes so it is not gonna do more than 50cr worth of business.
Secondly- had that crap released against a Khans film then it wouldnt have got more than 500 screens- even more class audiences would have demanded that the Khan starrer get more shows so Haider would have been a 2-3 cr movie each day for a week- it would have been annihilated- blown out of the water.
Thirdly- Indicine stop trying to appease the disenchanted jaadoo fans. Let them reap what they sow- for yrs we heard how Hrithik does classy films n films all about content- well now films all about entertainment, entertainment and entertainment…! During that same phase we all said Salman bhai carries his film on his own broad shoulders- without shivering or stuttering mind you- but that just led to fans saying its bcoz bhais films have no story, music or decent cast. Well I now hope that some perspective filters its way through Jaaduland classrooms, social clubs, workplaces, retirement communities where babaji resides that remaking any movie is not as easy as ppl say it is- Hrithik has done many remakes n noone can say hes bettered the original….!

In the end of the day I still feel the figures so far are only 10% off from where they should be but my hope was that it entered the 200 cr club but for selfish reasons- I cant stand Lungi Express’ current position- that movie over the yrs needs knocking down and to be quickly forgotten as its a sad state of affairs for Bollywood to have such a crap in the Top 5 positions…!

    • @Navin, Haider may not be a big film but UTV is one of the biggest production houses in the industry. They get the release that they want. They had a strategy for Haider against Bang Bang and they effectively executed it. At multiplexes in big centres, Haider has 35% share of shows, remaining 65% to Bang Bang.

From the 5 multiplexes in Mumbai that we got collections even Ek Villain had more shows than Bang Bang.

Not trying to appease anyone here, but one advice for you too. Try to stop this obsession with name-calling and SRK. There is a world beyond the so-called ‘Jadooland’ and ‘Paglapur’ too :)

  • Let the record show I watched Bang Bang last night (liked it but no review as out of respect n love I wont try to out do his world class top notch first grade REVIEW- his was the best Ever) and later on I saw Knight & Day as it came on tv n I recorded it- still good but no remake in bollywood was needed so bad choice tbh by Fox/ Sid/ Hrithik etc etc

  • Bang Bang is n’t that bad as some people are barking about it. Many people like v santaram, romance and loki haven’t watched the movie and are reviewing it. They are n’t judging anything by their own. They are looking at some reviews and writing bullshits on indicine.

  • @Indicine, what are these excuses for? Did you do the same for Jai Ho? It was pretty obvious that there were many factors that dented the collections of Jai Ho. No, excuses! Bang Bang is earning what it should and it is losing what it should!
You say Haider is for niche audiences. So, when did it become a Biggie? Don’t contradict!! It is pretty obvious!
YRF’s Dil Bole Hadippa starring Shahid and Rani clashed with Boney Kapoor’s Wanted starring Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia. What happened? Both Shahid and Rani were on top of their games at the time and Salman was facing the lowest phase of his career!!

@Nipun, that’s why you are rightly tagged as hypocritical critic! Don’t talk about sense here. There are untold numbers of senseless scenes in Bang Bang. E.g., why was Omar Zafar an international criminal in the movie at first? Did they give any background history of his? What crime that has he done to become the international criminal? Please explain!
Suddenly, in the blink of eyes, Rajveer travels from London to Dehli to Shimla to Dehradun to Mauritius to Czech etc without passports and visas and that too, with an extra baggage, Harleen Sahani? Please explain!! Or did he take the help of jaadoo in this movie, too.
But I have talked about these kinda senseless scenes considering them cinematic liberties.

  • @Indicine, YRF is the biggest production house in the country.

Its Dil Bole Hadippa starring Shahid and Rani Mukherji clashed with Boney Kapoor’s Wanted starring Salman Khan and Ayesha Takia. What happened? Both Shahid and Rani were on top of their games at the time and Salman was facing the lowest phase of his career!!

Please explain it to me the way you have explained to @Navin.

  • ….I meant “but I have NOT talked about these kinda senseless scenes considering them cinematic liberties.”

  • @Anand::Rajveer travelled all around the world same as Devi Lal after falling in a river in poland reached india through sewage pipelines!!!!

  • @Anand::Can u explain,which factors dented Jai ho’s collection????
Just bcoz it did’nt got any holidays???
Then even i can come with a list that entertainment,special26,OMG,khiladi786 also did’nt got any holidays…so don’t act as a stupid…

Jai Ho was looking a B-Grade film from its trailer itself.

  • My review of Indicines oldest film critic n resident agony aunt / forthright expert on manipulation and best exponent of double standards Mr Nipun ‘non-hypocritical’ Kumar is here…!

On a side note I have only read his review twice…! First time I read it I paused after his sentence “the story of bang bang is so simple and silly” thinking wrongly that that was the end of his review… If something is simple its boring n if its silly then its senseless- I was led to believe for several yrs by this strick n honest critic that senseless mindless movies should be ignored n avoided at all costs- oh how wrong I was. At second glance I discover his review had more- alarm bells were sounding by now- would our honest speaking truth searching critiK try n manipulate his way around his self imposed strict parameter/ guidelines in order to justify giving his fav hero’s movie a half half decent rating…? Lets find out…

Second paragraph and I quote:- “you will get some TWISTS in the 2nd half…”
This indicates either that in dance sequences rajveer is twisting here there everywhere n this pleases our critiK nipun or it annoys him as one twist in story is suffice but twist after twist after twist makes it illogican n downright senseless. I think Nipun now likes twists so much that for future masala movies he wants filmmakers to go back to the 80’s formula where every relative crawling out from under a rock is infact a different relative than what you thought. Twist- your uncle is your older brother. Your sister is your cousin. Your dad is your mechanic. Your aunt is your real mum… Your babaji is your babuji or is he just some village idiot…! Anyway twists should be kept to a bare minimum n asking for more is asking for masala type movie n not class movie.

Paragraph 3- couldnt make sense of it so will skip reading it again let alone analysing is to be frank…!

Paragraph 4- here the jealousy escapes and reaches the surface…. Whenever you fail to say something positive about the movie you are reviewing you by default mention another movie or 2 to highlight their flaws in order to make your movie look better. Here our hypocritical critiK excels. He compares 2 successful films (BoxOffice wise and audience affection wise) like Kick and D3 and wants to convince us once again that they had more illogical/ senseless scenes than his fav Bang Bang…! No need to read more- as a critiK if you need to include the negativity of other films to diminish the negativity of the film you are reviewing then clearly you arent being honest with your readership. Nipun kumar needs to accept to occasionally eat humble pie…!

5th paragraph we have the routine practise of blaming the inept director. Before films release it would rely solely on the boxoffice STAR of Hrithik n Kat but now we need our STORY, DIALOGUE, NARRATIVE, DIRECTOR etc etc etc to help our stars STAR power shine bright- oh how the big n mighty have fallen. Poor Sid cant win- film succeeds Hrithik did it, film disappoints HANG Sid in Jaaduland… Poor guy..

Paragraph 7- as expected here comes the character assasination of our hapless heroine- poor Kat wasnt even spared- yes we like abit of eye candy but when she opens her mouth n just noise comes out then its a big shock… I mean its not like that in 10 yrs Kat has been able to say one sentence and emote at the same time so why the big shock now… Oh wait its bcoz she makes our hero Hrithik look bad- hrithik wants to do romance but Kat makes you wanna cry out loud “take acting classes in Jaaduland n quick…”
I place no blame on Kat- shes no PC, Dips, Bebo and definitely no Diaz… Wrong female lead choice but she was cast to put bums on seats n she has done her job in that sense so 1 star to you hun…! ;-)

Paragraph 8 has another pop at Bollywoods biggest movie EVER- D3…. I mean when will this fool realise that you cant attain that status without strong content… D3 had Aamir but also strong elements like revenge angle, action, comedy, drama, romance- they all played a strong hand in its success and Bang Bang falls short.

End of the day Nipun Kumars review is as expected- certainly no shock to me. To see him try n squirm his way around his own so called self imposed strict parameter was pretty pathetic. Blaming others is a common trait in the human psyche but to drag others accomplishments down in order to justify your own crap is very shallow. The kid needs to
stick to what he does best n that is manipulate the truth and leave the CRITIQUE field well alone to the experts. His review started of well with that sentence mentioned above and I could have given him 5 stars. But it tragically went downhill after that n especially when jealousy resurfaced it looked like a tale of denial n shallowness…. I will give him 1 star n nomore….!

  • @indicine

So you are admitting to the existence of Jaadooland and Paglapur…!

I thought there were make belief worlds where parents would scare their kids with by saying if you bad then we will send you to an Youtube Enslavement Camp in Paglapur or if your grades continue sliding downwards then no Disneyland this year just a trip to Jaadooland…!

  • @indicine
good reply to a nonsense user.
after all there is a limit of nonsenseness
the comments by these nonsenses only reflects their bringings & culture of there society.
only losers who cant do anything became abusive towards others.

  • @indicine

Furthermore do you really think UTV would have even dared to in their sleep to release that ‘Haider’ against a Khans film…? Really… If they did then they would straight away wake up and slap themselves a hundred times before falling on their knees and apologising unreservedly to Aamir, Srk and Salman outside their houses respectively…!

Theres business n then theres suicide…. Food for thought- Had Haider contemplated releasing against a HNY, Kick or PK then the legendary Shakespeare would have arisen from the dead and stopped that suicidal decision…!

    • @Navin, SOS did clash against JTHJ and did very well. In fact, in the domestic market, SOS was the more successful film considering its budget and the odds stacked against it before release.

Mission Kashmir and Mohabbatein, Welcome Back and Taare Zameen Par, two films All The Best and Blue released with Main Aur Mrs Khanna.. many more!

There have been clashes in the past and there will be in the future too. All the holiday weekends for the next 2 years are booked and Khans don’t have too many of them.

Two huge films made on a 100 crore budget may not release on the same day, but a smaller film like Haider with the stakes a little lower, might clash with a big film in the future.

  • @anand: i have earlier said that bb had, but n’t as much as kick. Those two things aren’t illogical things. You cann’t say that Rajveer and harleen are travelling so fast. Do u expect all the unnecessary things to be seen of their travelling like buying tickets or showing visa. .it had some scenes,bt not much. The main two poor things are kat’s pathetic acting and the screenplay which wasn’t sufficiant enough.

  • I know @nipun ghayal, you want to give 3.5 star for Bang Bang but he can’t give because of KICK movie released time your rate is 2 star for KICK so you rate is 2.5 for Bang Bang. I still haven’t watch Bang Bang cause not released in Myanmar Yangon(Rangoon) so my review come a few day.

  • Yes I have an infatuation with Paglapur and Jaadoland as I want to see if such places are really that unique n special when compared to Bhojpur for example… I dont have a problem with ppl calling me a bhojpuri fan so let them carry on n why should anyone have a problem with me kindly reciprocating that same affection back is beyond my understanding…! Jaadoo fans feel honoured when I address them in that manner I believe….

  • @Indicine above your comments reply for fans not justice because Why did WELCOME BACK(sequel of Blockbuster movie) and B.VELVET(Ranbir is 5th position stardom in India and even movie budget 100cr over) avoid to clash with PK. Why??? @Indicine

    • @Myanmar, both Welcome Back and Bombay Velvet wouldn’t have been ready on time for December release. And you can’t clash with a film from the director of 3 Idiots and Munnabhai, doesn’t matter which Top 5 star he casts.

  • @navin: yes, i agree that i shouldn’t have mentioned names of d3 and kick. But I had to do because here on indicine i have seen many double faced people who always keep chanting good about their stars’ movies even though they are average and talk bullshits at other star movies. By those mentions, I tried to show that if someone has liked movies like d3 n kick, there are chances of liking bang bang too. For me d3 might be just better but n’t great either.

  • I think @Navin uncle got his answer…Kindly don’t overrate Khans, they get the best release dates and everything in their favour..And when they don’t get—Then Jai ho and Talaash occurs!!!

I think Bang Bang was much much better than Dabangg2 and ETT,but still critics bashed it more…

  • @Navin, hahaha! Aap Ne Toh Non-Hypocritical Honest Critic Ki Class Le Lee! I don’t thik he needs to attend classes anymore!! Now, I think his inside is burning like hell!!
Especially, I will note down this sentence forever “Blaming others is a common trait in the human psyche but to drag others’ accomplishments down in order to justify your own crap is very shallow.”

ROFL!! It seems now to me that Indicine has now confirmed the existence of Paglapur and Jaadoolnad! Hahaha!! At least spare Indicine! LOL!

@Babaji Ka Thullu, I knew you would point out this scene from Kick. I wanted to write it together and explain. But I missed out!
In Kick, he came back to India exactly the way he traveled to Poland. He came out of the river and came back. But the difference is on his way to Poland, the access was easy but on his way back, it would be difficult because he was already, by then, in the Police’s Wanted Listed. So, somehow he could have managed to skip the airport security.

Well, travelling for Rajveer from a country to another in the blink of eyes was justified. Then, what about the extra baggage, Harleen Sahani? She didn’t get time to make a passport and get a visa. She was all the time with Rajveer on the run. Please explain!

Why has Omar Zafar become a criminal? What crime has he committed to be in the interpol’s wanted list? Please explain!

Due to Muzzaffarnagar Contoversy and Modi Controversy, a great section of people refrained from watching Jai Ho. Besides, it had much lowered ticket price. don’t you accept that?
Jai Ho trailer was not looking like B-Grade Trailer but certainly, you have got problems with your budda eyes.

  • the very first movie of Greek God released b/w movie of khans

  • Shah Rukh Khan Calls Aamir Khan Half Hero!
    _
    By BusinessofCinema
While Salman Khan is confused whether or not to kiss and make up with Shah Rukh Khan, from being overtly interested to promote Happy New Year on Bigg Boss to mocking at SRK’s 10 pack abs, Shah Rukh Khan seems to be in a nasty mood when it comes to Aamir Khan. Recently, he called Aamir a half hero. Obviously, all those present were stunned at Shah Rukh’s reaction towards Aamir, as till recently there was no news of any rivalry between the two. It so happened that Boman Irani sang Give Me Some Sunshine from 3 Idiots at Google Head Quarters when the Happy New Year team came visiting. Someone asked Irani to name the actor in the film and he said Aamir Khan. Shah Rukh was pretty prompt in saying, “When so many stars are present on stage, why are you talking about Half-heroes?” Well, now, what do you mean by Half- heroes exactly, Shah Rukh? We tried to wrap our head around the word but it sounded frail. It doesn’t mean anything. Also, we wonder when the Khan’s will learn to publicise films on their own merit rather than taking digs at each other . Guess our Khan‘s need to grow up even at 48.

    Hail King Kong Srk

  • @babaji look at u
u r comparing bang bang with crap dabangg 2.
that means bang bang also crap movie.
atleast someone hr fan accepted that bang bang is crap movie.
    lol

  • @Indicine but most of the clashes are won by commercial films. jthj was hardcore romantic whereas SOS was pure masala movie.and for your kind of information at the end that clash won by jthj
