Bang Bang Friday (Day 2) Box Office Collections

Bang Bang continued its good run on its second day at the domestic box office with net collections of Rs 24.08 cr on Friday. The film has held up well in most parts of the country with drops in the range of 10-20% on Day 2.

Friday was a holiday in a few states for Dusshera, while Saturday will be a holiday in other parts. All three days, including the opening day (Gandhi Jayanti), were not pan-India national holidays like Independence Day.

Bang Bang has now collected Rs 51.62 crore in 2 days and could cross the 100 crore mark on Sunday if business picks up. Monday is also a holiday in some parts of India for Bakri-eid.

  • Bang bang did bery good despite media negativity, durga puja, t20 match…..I hope movie will sustain well and cross 200 crore mark….even happy for shahid he will sweep most of awards

  • I watched Bang Bang first day first show and thoroughly enjoyed the movie. While it might not be a movie with a great story,it is engaging right from the word GO. Hrithik Roshan is tremendous and while he is on screen, you just can’t take your eyes off him! The chemistry between the lead pair is sizzling and the action is fabulous. I could feel the entire auditorium enjoying the movie by clapping and whistling. 90% people had stayed on till the end credits finished! While leaving the hall, the people had smiles on their faces , which indicated that the film had delivered what it had promised.

After watching the movie,I read a few reviews and was frankly surprised seeing the contrary views. The reviewers and a section of the social media started a negative campaign against the film quite strongly. I again watched the film the same evening and the reaction in the crowd was exactly the same as in the morning show. I enquired with many friends and relatives about their reaction seeing the movie and they were very positive. This just proves the widening gap between the critics and the junta.

It has been a great weekend for Indian cinema that there are two films of diverse genres and the fact that both are doing well should augur well for the industry. For those indulging in maligning commercial cinema, the message would be to let the audience decide. Rather than spreading negativity, we must be proud of the talents in our industry and whenever one has done good work,it has to be appreciated. Every actor is a star in his own right and fans of one star trying to bring down another is not a healthy sign and is sure to hamper the progress of our own industry. I can see so much of insecurity among the fans, and it is truly unjustified. It is our fortune that we have superstars like SRK,Salman,Hrithik,Aamir,Akshay,Ajay etc who are all doing some good work and each have their own unique talents and a wonderful body of work. Love your stars, but respect others too, and if a film is doing excellently at the box office,it is good for the industry and in turn will prompt other stars to do better work to break the records set previously.

It is time to unite, stop the negativity campaign and to join hands to make the hindi film industry reach newer heights! Our stars deserve that :)

  • A TIGHT SLAP ON THE FACE OF THOSE WHO SAY WOM IS BAD !! SEE IT FOR YOURSELF!!! SHAME ON KHANTARDS!!! HRITHIK AS ALWAYS SETS RECORDS DESPITE CLASH!!!

  • @v shantaram moron…have u ever watched a film like haider in ur entire life…i really laugh seeing 2Rs salman fans talking about quality..lol
And the comment u have posted is Raja sen’s tweet..so stop praising haider when u have’nt even watched it..

  • Nipun, again! You have proven what you are…Giving 2.5 Stars to Bang Bang doesn’t cinceal what you have written in the review. Kick and Dhoom 3 had more comedies, emotions and dramas…Kick first half was a laugh riot and romance and second half actions, stunts and emotions. Meanwhile, in Dhoom 3, Uday Chopra added the required comedy and Aamir provided drama and emotions…
Unlike Kick and Dhoom 3, Bang Bang has more actions and stunts. It is all about actions, actions and more actions. One comes out of theatre hardly with any feeling..

I am waiting for the review of your review by @Navin.

  • Collection is Mind blowing with the no of screens and less shows it got and first 2 days are semiholidays
Sunday will be first holiday for it
So hr fans need not to worry as only Haters are doing negative publicity while Hr fans and neutral fans are liking the movie very much
Further drop could be expected today
    But Sunday will be humongous

  • That is a decent collection. I was very much confused with number of screens in which the movie is being played. I predicted 38 cr day one with 4300 screens but it seems it didn’t release in 4300 screens and released only in 3300 screens. With just 3300 screens it has no chance to cross 29-30 crs. Out of the 5 day holiday…Thursday and Sunday are major holidays..so hope BB collects another 45- 50 crs today and tomorrow. A decent 17-18 crs on Monday and expect first week to end up with 150 crs collections. What ever it collects in 2nd week n 3rd week are profits now which i believe should be another 50 crs…

Considering average reviews and good word of mouth it should be able to touch 200 crs…I dont expect it to go beyond 220 crs now and 250 crs is highly impossible…

But as a HR fan the collections are quite disappointing. I expected it to touch 300 crs…But i will leave it to my another fav actor i.e.. Aamir Khan to do the honors of making it to 300 crs….

  • @BK Thullu, we too laugh to see you 1/2 Rs jaadoo fans praising a crap remake of k&d so much. It seems to me while watching bong bong that a robot was casted in place of jaadoo roshan in his appearance just to fight and fire guns..No expressions, nothing!! Shivering like engines!
Well, we talk about the content of entertainments in a movie…We have phir milengi, tere naam, baghban, sooraj barjatya’s films and khamoshi to take pride of..

  • I didn’t like the movie Bang Bang.
Not agree with any review. This movie looks like copy of many Hollywood Movies, who believe in crap & mindless movies, can see it. My rating 0/5.

  • suddenly people start finding logic in masala entertainer…it is d best action film of bolywud…WOM is very positive…just go n watch it again in a single screen theatre u ll defintly love d atmosphere there…clappings, shouts, whistles…feels good

  • @anand: bang bang is just ahead of kick in terms of content due to action and less no. of senseless scenes. Kick was unfunny in 1st half even though they showed comedy. .d3 is on par/slightly better.

  • Height of Double stantdards is When Haider becomes a Great movie for the same people who criticised Guzaarish…
Just shows how much they are trying to degrade Hrithik & Bang Bang..

A True Movie Lover will praise & Respect both Guzaarish & Haider… Both are best…

Saw Haider Last nyt… No words for it…
All i can say is Shahid & Tabu will sweep most of the awards for best actor & Best actress in a supporting role…
While Kangana will bag best actress award…

If Kick could get 231 cr & Dhoom 3 got 282 crs.. Bang Bang definitely deserves a 250 nett…

@Anand_the original, let me tell you something, i saw kick & Bang Bang in the same theatre FDFS… U said 1st half was full comedy in kick more than BB…. But it may come as a shock to you but people found BB has more comedy & Fun than Kick… Kick had just normal fun coz it was an action thriller not Action-Comedy like Bang Bang.

  • @indicine
How are these no. according to you?
    Are they good or disappointing?
Bcoz the film is running on good occupancy but gigantic figures of 30crs plus are not coming…

    • @Babaji, so far so good for Bang Bang. The numbers might seem a little low, but we haven’t really seen a big film starring one of the Top 4 or 5 stars clash against a critically acclaimed film like Haider in the last couple of years.

For example, if Haider released with Kick or Singham Returns and OUATIMD (a much bigger film than Haider) released on the same day as Chennai Express, the numbers wouldn’t have been the same for all those record-breaking films. The opening day of Chennai Express would have been in the 25-27 crore range (or maybe even lower), which eventually makes a big difference because breaking records is big news and free publicity across news channels and social media. Kick and Singham Returns too would have lost around 20-25% of business.

Not only did Bang Bang lose out on business to Haider, it also lost a massive number of shows and screens.

Having said that, happy with the numbers of Bang Bang so far. But just a feeling that the fall is inevitable given its content. Would love to be proved wrong though! Lets wait and watch.

  • Earlier Hrithik fans blamed khans fans, critics, media etc now they starting to blame pm modiji for low collections of bang bang…too much fun.

  • Kick is better than Bang Bang because of the direction and the script but D3 is way ahead.. These 2 are nowhere close to D3.

  • to win long race you should have patience.bang bang collection is not outstanding due to many factors, but good to excellent.it will shift gears in coming days and will give tight slap on haters’ face.
