Bang Bang has failed to show any major growth in business on Sunday, even though the overall total for the weekend is the second best of the year after Salman Khan’s Kick.
The Hrithik Roshan starrer has collected around 21-22 crore on Sunday to take its 4-day weekend total to Rs 94.13 crore. The film lost around 10-12 crore in its first weekend to Shahid Kapoor’s Haider, without which Bang Bang would have probably crossed the 100 crore mark in 4 days.
The problem for Bang Bang isn’t the collections but the way it has trended. The business on Sunday is lower than both Thursday and Friday, which isn’t a good sign.
Monday (today) is a holiday in parts of the country, so the film should cross the 100 crore mark. Tuesday could well decide the fate of Siddharth Anand’s ambitious and expensive action film.
A few individual distributors in Bihar and Rajasthan are almost certain to lose money on the film, as the weekend business was way lower in these circuits compared to the price that was paid. Having said that, the kind of money that distributors pay for big films these days, even mega-blockbusters like Kick just about managed to break-even in a few circuits.
An exhibitor we spoke to, didn’t mince words when he said “This is a weak period for business due to the upcoming Diwali and Navratri. None of the traders and workers are free from work to watch films, they are working overtime. Students have exams. The new breed of distributors and exhibitors dont understand this. Considering all these factors, Bang Bang is doing good business”

Music was the main letdown. The best music albums of the year are Queen and Revolver rani. these are classy albums.
I am disappointed with Today’s collections because i wanted Bang Bang to enter 100 CR Club in 4 days but it will enter today . Even Kick took 5 days to enter 100 CR Club . I just hope and pray that Bang Bang enters the 200 CR Club . It looks tough but nothing is impossible . Bang Bang has done record breaking business in Pakistan . The Worldwide Gross is 175 CR . I think BB will be Hrithik’s Highest Overseas grosser . Hrithik hats off to you for doing such hardwork . In terms of Action sequences this is the best in Indian Cinema .

Bang Bang has done very good business so far but the trend is very negative……Yes tuesday is the key …lets see how it will perform on weekdays
bang bang had the best release date.. it had 4 holidays in first 5 days n also a saturday which is a half day.. schools n colleges are closed.. offices are closed.. never ever in his life hrithik would get such a awesome release date again.. the movie was grand, top actress n backed by big production house like fox, one of the best release dates ever full of holidays.. hrithik should thank his lucky stars that it released on such a good release date otherwise it would have struggled to do the business it has done so far
If it collects 150-160 crores lifetime, it will be considered below average to average, not a semi hit because it’s cost is 140 crores. It must have covered 50-60 crores through music and satellite rights.. So, if it collects 160 cr approx. that will give distributers’ share of 80 cr. approx. then it should be declared below average…

Bang Bang in hindi grossed 15 crore nett on its third day and the biggest fall that was was similar to the previous day. The film is very expensive in terms of budget had no chance to survive after Tuesday. The approx business of the hindi version of Bang bang till date is as follows.
Thursday – 24 Crores
Friday – 20 crores
Saturday – 15 Crores
TOTAL – 59 Crores
The three day weekend is well behind films like Kick and Singham Returns despite national and dassera holidays.
The film has fared very average in multiplexes of big cities till date but the collections at single screens of B and C centres especially in Hindi belt are very very low. The film is trending towards Flop.
Haider set to surprises and trending towards HIT.
Haider continued with a good trend on day two as it grossed around 7 crore nett. The collections were better on day three than day one with 6.5 Crores The collections are on lower side but it has held up well over the first three days. The approx business of the Hindi version of Haider till date is as follows.

Saturday – 6.5
TOTAL 19.5 Crores
The plus for the film is no major competition until the release of Happy New Year so it has good chances of holding as it had positive word of mouth and it could get a decent lifetime total.
Haider has shown a good trend and its marching towards HIT Status.

Even at the time of Besharam last year we saw that…though i agree that the film was a bad one but still there was too much negativity surrounding it.
Besharam had a parody scene of RK singing DDLJ song which infuriated srk fans..while also had a mention of CHULBUL which outraged sallu fans..
Also the fact that YJHD did so well,Khantards sensed him as a potential threat.
Same with Bang Bang this year.
Negative word of mouth will cost the film 200 crore mark..it will trend like Singham returns..may finish under 170 crore
Earlier jadoo fans predicted 40cr 1st day, 200cr 1st week, 300cr+ lifetime. Now sum of them starting to predict 150-160cr lifetime…..too much fun.
@babaji, don’t go overboard and justify the avg collections of BB by blaming Khans.
When Jai Ho collected only 112 crores, did anyone here blame Hro and Hrotards for spreading negativity.

As I had predicted, the festive season and exams in Mumbai will have its effect, and it did.
All these should have been taken in to considerations before releasing the movie.
The only movie that has the biggest advantage of real holidays this year is HNY.
And if by chance that movie doesn’t perform, there is no explanation in the world to defend it.
Also, the biggest mistake by makers Fox and Hro was not to release the movie in Diwali.
It is the biggest holiday period.
They were trying to play too safe, and in the rush to release before they released trailer of the movie just a week in advance, which is very bad.
And finally, FOX were promoting FF like some mega blockbuster movie instead of BB.
Anyways, there are always excuses if the movie doesn’t do as per expectations.
The bottomline is, the movie is only running on the star power of Hro and Katrina, whose fans are the only ones going to see it.
The neutral fans were totally not in a mood of the movie because of the lazy promotions by the makers that never could make any impact.
They should learn something from srk, who is doing world tour two months in advance for his movies.
One more thing, as i did miss a few episodes of Kapil’s show lately, did they bother to promote on that show, which is currently Indian’s TV’s no.1 show?
@Babaji ka thullu Bang Bang got huge screens and u r talking of less screens as if Bang Bang was housefull everywhere and people were fighting for tickets.lol.Bang Bang occupancy was very good but still tickets were getting easily which was not the case with Dhoom 3 and Kick.

The same critics ,who give positive rating for many bad films gave 1 or 1.5 for bang bang eg.martin D’souza. So much insecurity ! UTV is the same banner who has produced for ce,kick and pk.

I can say that all critics who gave positive reviews to Krrish 3 were also bought by Filmkraft.

I now strongly believe that there is some section of society which is against Hrithik…trying to bring down his reputation down. It was Krish 3 earlier now with BB. There should be some standard for giving ratings…One particular reviwer gave 2 stars to Humshakals and same 2 Stars to BB. There is some difference between content of Bang Bang & Humshakals..Bang Bang has never seeb before stunts, dance, action etc…it deserves a minimum of 3 stars..
Bang Bang was a good movie and deserves a decent 3.5 stars….Haters you can stop HR fans from crossing certain collections amount..But you cannot stop HR from breaking records…Mind It….I dont except Mohenjadaro to be a big grosser…But Hrithik’s next film with Rakesh Roshan should surely break all records…
