Bang Bang has failed to show any major growth in business on Sunday, even though the overall total for the weekend is the second best of the year after Salman Khan’s Kick.
The Hrithik Roshan starrer has collected around 21-22 crore on Sunday to take its 4-day weekend total to Rs 94.13 crore. The film lost around 10-12 crore in its first weekend to Shahid Kapoor’s Haider, without which Bang Bang would have probably crossed the 100 crore mark in 4 days.
The problem for Bang Bang isn’t the collections but the way it has trended. The business on Sunday is lower than both Thursday and Friday, which isn’t a good sign.
Monday (today) is a holiday in parts of the country, so the film should cross the 100 crore mark. Tuesday could well decide the fate of Siddharth Anand’s ambitious and expensive action film.
A few individual distributors in Bihar and Rajasthan are almost certain to lose money on the film, as the weekend business was way lower in these circuits compared to the price that was paid. Having said that, the kind of money that distributors pay for big films these days, even mega-blockbusters like Kick just about managed to break-even in a few circuits.
An exhibitor we spoke to, didn’t mince words when he said “This is a weak period for business due to the upcoming Diwali and Navratri. None of the traders and workers are free from work to watch films, they are working overtime. Students have exams. The new breed of distributors and exhibitors dont understand this. Considering all these factors, Bang Bang is doing good business”

Sallu Bhai is best. Bang Bang is going worse than Thankur’s Ra.One. Atleast Ra.One held for first 5 days before crashing.

@virat kohli: like other good movies of sid anand? ? I don’t think he has made any that good movie in his career. Anjana Anjani was a bad film and flopped at BO. Bachna ae haseeno and tara rum pum were okay type and became flop and semihit respectively. Salaam Namastey was a nice one,but not that nice and was a just hit. Problem with bang bang is that it’s okay type(in terms of content) and entertaining in terms of entertainment like ce,kick etc. But it’s unnecessary getting negativity even though it’s not that bad. As far as strict critics are concerned,it’s rating is on par with SR,jai ho and higher than CE.
I watched bang bang yesterday.it was superb movie and hrithiks performance was mindblowing and Katrina looks cute.I will give it 4 stars.if you want entertainment then go for bang bang.

No the problem is with Indicine here which is trying to promote Bang Bang negatively. What fate are you going to talk about if it can easily cross 170 crore?? the film will be termed Hit if it crosses 170 crore which is pretty likely to happen. Audience reviews are mostly likely to be very positive which only critics have failed to praise the movie as they can only praise movies full of crap like Kick and Dhoom 3 which have been totally illogical and inconsistent in the incidents of their stories. Bang Bang is not for a mediocre quality audience. People with good tongue can understand the taste of Bang Bang. A film which is consistently doing business over 20 crore in four consecutive days can’t be promoted negatively this way. Even though Koimoi.com is a pure Hrithik hater, they didn’t even promote the film as negatively as indicine is promoting all over. Collection is looking good but indicine is saying this is bad collection. I wonder why!!

never judge a book by its cover.this proverb works for bang bang.when the content is poor no one can make it hit except probably only salman.becoz of 5 holidays bb can make 150 cr otherwise max 100 to 110 cr.so never estimate like 250 cr ,300 cr for any movies.

In UK it earned $ 929k which is again highest opening weekend of 2014 for a bollywood film..

Bang Bang got mixed reactions and now even 175+ crores is looking difficult as it will struggle from tomorrow.People should stop comparing it with Dhoom 3 and Kick as it is nowhere near these movies and will be behind by huge margin in lifetime collections.Also Bang Bang got huge screens and got many holidays so giving Haider excuse is not digestable.If Bang Bang lost 15 crores bcoz of Haider then Haider has lost 50 crores bcoz of Bang Bang.lol
