Bang Bang has failed to show any major growth in business on Sunday, even though the overall total for the weekend is the second best of the year after Salman Khan’s Kick.
The Hrithik Roshan starrer has collected around 21-22 crore on Sunday to take its 4-day weekend total to Rs 94.13 crore. The film lost around 10-12 crore in its first weekend to Shahid Kapoor’s Haider, without which Bang Bang would have probably crossed the 100 crore mark in 4 days.
The problem for Bang Bang isn’t the collections but the way it has trended. The business on Sunday is lower than both Thursday and Friday, which isn’t a good sign.
Monday (today) is a holiday in parts of the country, so the film should cross the 100 crore mark. Tuesday could well decide the fate of Siddharth Anand’s ambitious and expensive action film.
A few individual distributors in Bihar and Rajasthan are almost certain to lose money on the film, as the weekend business was way lower in these circuits compared to the price that was paid. Having said that, the kind of money that distributors pay for big films these days, even mega-blockbusters like Kick just about managed to break-even in a few circuits.
An exhibitor we spoke to, didn’t mince words when he said “This is a weak period for business due to the upcoming Diwali and Navratri. None of the traders and workers are free from work to watch films, they are working overtime. Students have exams. The new breed of distributors and exhibitors dont understand this. Considering all these factors, Bang Bang is doing good business”

- Friday (Day 2) – 24.08 cr
- Saturday (Day 3) – 20.1 cr
- Sunday (Day 4) – 22.41 cr

Why sugarcoat things? The release date was good and so was the buzz. Fact is film has got mixed word of mouth and isnt sustaining well. That comes down to the film being average.

After watching Bang Bang, i can proudly say that I belong to the same country where people like hrithik roshan lives. He has delivered a brilliant performance. Cinematography was outstanding. Stunts were wonderful. Was suprised to see such action scenes in B’town. Music is good with hummable songs. Uff is my personal fav song from the album. Background music was superb.
Yes,being an action thriller,it has also some loopholes like dhoom 3 and kick.
The direction was just okay. Kat simply couldn’t act even though she was extremely cute! If you love watching action thrillers like dhoom series and kick ,you should go for bang bang.

Bang Bang is not a good movie like other Siddharth Anand ‘s movie. Otherwise it would have been the biggest opener India as well as Worldwide. It has everything in its favour, Holiday Release with 5 Days Holidays Weekend, Fox Star Studio, Hot Pairing, first time Hrithik in Hollywood Remake, Super Hit Music, Good Screen Release of 5100+Screens (all time highest), Three Open Week, No Competition (Shahid is 2Rs Star & Haider is not a big movie & don’t have any hype or good wom…as per HR fans).
150-175Cr looks possible!!

whatever may be the reason but main reason is the content of the film if it is good anyway people will watch it still diwali is far away ur released the film on this day to get advantage of navratri now if they say it is dull period it is their mistake due to pre eid kick also lost some of its business

For those who compared kick with BB.. If Kick had pre-eid, BB has pre-diwali & Navratri.. if BB had 5 holidays, it also has a lesser screen count n ticket price.. Katrina is a plus point for BB but her image as an expressionless actress is a Negative point… So that equals Jacquelene… Also Kick had Nawaz & Randeep as plus point… What if BB has Big budget, Audience doesn’t decide to watch movie on that basis…
Clash with Haider isnt small coz Haider has been universally Acclaimed… The critical acclaim of Haider effected the ratings of BB resulting in even more less BO..
